Resort Room Entry-At the discretion of management? Legal?

They don't want weapons in the room -that's what it stopped.

Except the weapon was found by bell service while delivering bags to the rooms. Not with a room check.

Personally, if it prevents even one more tragedy like the Las Vegas shooting, it's worth it to me.

I get your sentiment but a better use would be putting in check points at the resort or better yet a full room sweep randomly where they search all your bags and locations in the room. A Vegas style shooter can easily bypass the current room check if they were planning something.

What they are doing right now does nothing really but help cover their liability if something happens. Which is why I asked if this type of check had caught anyone anywhere let alone at Disney.

However, at Disney, especially without the airport luggage service, most bags are not handled by Bell Services, unless the guests check their bags with them while waiting for their room to be made ready. People that drive completely bypass bell services.

That might be true for OKW and maybe Saratoga Springs, where you can park near to or in front of your room, but Bell Services is used by many people that drive at Boardwalk Villas.

Not easily… AI technology has made significant advances. Once you publicize capability, you open the door to creatively blind the technology. You also don’t publicize events that scare your customers.

I am an attorney, formerly in the hotel industry. While I can’t give you legal advice, I can tell you that “I’m not a lawyer but I could make the case that….” is like saying “I’m not a doctor but I can do that procedure”
