Resort Reservations at Thanksgiving

I am a new DVC owner, but won't receive my member number for another week. I would love to use the points for my family of 4 to go to Disney World Nov 24-28 for Thanksgiving and my 40th birthday! How likely will there be availability during that time for any of the resorts? TIA.

Slim possibility but most likely one to get will be Saratoga Springs. You may need to be willing to change resorts each day to get the whole trip (or room sizes). You may be able to get most all your dates but Thanksgiving and the day after and need to pay cash for someplace to stay then.

Thanksgiving days books out right at 7mon. The larger resorts (AKV, SSR) were gone even last month when I checked.

There's very little available for Wed-Fri. You may be able to get a room here and there to piece it together. For example a studio at OKW on Wed, 1bd at SSR for Thur, 2bd at OKW on Friday.

You can always wait list and see if things open up when VGF starts booking for Thanksgiving.

Don't give up hope!

We bought at just about exactly this time of year back in 2006 and things do change...still, there were many fewer DVC resorts back then as well as fewer DVC members--

Anyway, I know we bought towards the end of June, and for our first trip I wanted T-giving ...

We started w/a 1-BR at SSR, but our waitlists for a studio came through fairly quickly...back then, there were no limits on the number of waitlists, so MS recommended we W/L each night separately, which we did...we had our week in an SSR studio fairly quickly--within 6 weeks...

So, do try...if you need to use the W/L, be judicious about your two allowable W/Ls...try to keep each one to one or two nights (maybe you can book "the middle" of your trip and W/L the first night or two, and then also the last night or two?

SSR is the most likely, just because it's the biggest...but look at OKW and AKV, too--both are big enough that chances are not "impossible" if you book in June...

Thanks for the advice. I will try the waitlist thing. This is all new to me so any advice is very much appreciated!
