Resort Pool Usage For Off Site Guests

I was behind a couple today waiting to rent a Surrey Bike at CBR. The couple in front of me was staying off site. They were renting a Sea Racer and asked if they could also use the resort pools even if they were staying off site. The CM told them "absolutely and it is encouraged". He also told them they could only use the main pool and not the quiet pools. Is this a new policy Disney has started?

The CM was wrong. Using the boat rentals, etc. is encouraged but hotel pools are reserved for hotel guests.

Most likely, it was either a misunderstanding by the CM of the question asked or they are just poorly trained.

I agree with the previous post. I am sure their insurance requires it be for resort guests only.

Not to mention all the signage at each resort stating that the pool is for the sole use of those guests staying at that resort. How much more plain can it be??

I am not defending this Cast Member for telling these guests false information, but maybe he was new and did not know the rules? However I will say again that is still no excuse for giving out the wrong information.

Last Feb. while in line at CBR food court to pay, a man was asking the CM at the register how the refillable mugs worked, he said it could be refilled for free and it could be brought back for years - he waved his hands towards the seting area and said look around you'll see lots of old mugs I thought of these boards. And yes, there were plenty of signs around about how the mug program works.

On two of our previous vacations...we've observed folks at the pool/in the pool being asked to show their room key cards (including ourselves). This happened once at WL and another time at SSR.

There were a few people each time asked to leave because they could not produce a card. I would be quite embarrassed to be asked to leave a pool at a deluxe Disney resort due to not being able to read the sign...
