Easy question - I already know that if you stay on property you recieve free parking at the parks and other resorts....But what are the Downtown Disney Area Resorts (like the DoubleTree Suites) considered....would i recieve free parking to the parks as a guest there or would I be treated like i'm staying "off site" and have to pay. Also do Downtown Disney area guest have access to the other "on site" resorts say for dinner - or just to look around? - any help would be great.

No, the non-Disney hotels along Hotel Plaza Blvd do not get free parking at the Disney parks. That is a perk for Disney guests.

Downtown Disney area hotel guests have the same ability as any other non-Disney guests to visit Disney resorts. If you make PS at any resort restaurant, you will be allowed to park at that resort for dinner/breakfast. You can sometimes say that you just want to look around and get a temporary parking pass. But that tends to not be allowed during the busiest seasons. You CANNOT park at one Disney resort to go to a Disney park or another Disney resort. For example, you cannot make a PS for breakfast at the Contemporary or Polynesian and then expect to leave your car there all day long to go to Magic Kingdom. Security will give you a parking pass for two or three hours and then you must leave.
