We've been many times, but this trip we'll be driving several places instead of using WDW transportation.
We'll have our parking pass from our DVC resort. When we go to another Disney property, let's say a regular Disney resort, do we have to stop at the guard house? Or is there a lane like the DVC resorts have for those that already have a parking pass?
TIA! :)

You have to stop at the guard house unless it is the resort you are staying at. The resort guest line requires a key from that resort.

Your room key will work only at the automated gates at your resort, you'll need to stop at the guard house.

If you want to go hang out at other resorts, chek them out, pool hop, eat, etc, don't forget that you will also need to tell the guard why you are coming there. If you are going to the Poly or the Contemporary, they will be extra strict about giving you the third degree, because people like to park there and go over to the MK via the monorail or walkway. At CR, they actually will check the dining reservations list to see if you are on it. Poly is a bit easier going. They will give you a card to put on your dash that lets security know you are a "limited time permit" - it's like 3 hours or something.

Have creative excuses on hand if you start to feel uncomfortable about being grilled and you don't have dining reservations, like - "I'm going shopping - much to my spouse's dismay!" :rolleyes1 That one always works to ease the tension. If it's a female guard, she usually laughs. Men just shake their head and let you through. At Boardwalk, tell them you are coming to ride the bikes and get Pizza (no reservations to check at the pizza window)!

Don't forget - at the Boardwalk and other DVC resorts that do valet, you get free valet parking. Regular resorts don't extend us this courtesy. Remember to tip!

Depending on the resort in question they may not allow you to park (CR) or may direct you across the street (GF, BWV). The rest will often give you a 3 hour parking pass, esp Poly. Parking is free at the parks when staying on property, but you're not supposed to park at the resorts and go to the parks. You can valet for free at the other DVC resorts, you'll likely need your blue card.

Thanks, everyone. On the day we arrive, we have dining reservations at GF. Although we plan to check in at BCV to register and get our parking pass, I'm sure the room won't be ready and it will be much easier to just hop back in the car and drive over to GF.

If you have the Disney Dining Experience card, you can get complimentary valet parking when you dine at a regular WDW resort. Present your card and the dining receipt when you claim your car.
