Now I know most of you guys do not believe in getting the packages, but since we received this as a Christmas gift its kind of hard to complain.

My question is in regards to the Flex Features. Has anyone received one of these lately? I have the list of what is available, but wondered if these things are always available (ie. photo album and journal) Does each resort keep these on hand or what. My son is wanting the Animal Kingdom sculpted timepiece, but I am not sure what that is.

Any help would be appreciated. I am trying to price out these flex features to see what is the most "bang for the buck".

Thanks guys! We leave Friday and I cant wait!!!!!!:D

The most bang for the buck will be to book on your own and buy the same sculpted timepiece for $500 less than what you prepay for it as part of the package.

But I believe they just give you vouchers at the counter to get pins and whatever other features.

We always got the Resort Magic Package before we purchased DVC, and we found that we came out ahead. I recall calculating it one year and it was something like $8 per person, and we could use it for character meals as well as merchandise, but we always let the kids pick out what they wanted...it was their treat (friends of ours used it to pay for a character meal). You just have to do the math.

We received a brochure at check-in with the flex features. We frequently found that some of the items were sold out (maybe because we go in December?), and one time a CM did make a call to find an item for us. It's hit or miss.

I know it is not the cheapest but it has always been the easiest for us to get the Resort Magic package. We have never had a problem with any of the items on the list when we go in the Summer. Last year we booked two resorts (Yacht Club and Polynesian) so we ended up with double the flex features and they were giving $50 Disney dollars per package so we ended up with an extra $100.

We just find it easier to get the Resort Magic.

We have done resort Magic for several years in a row. My kids always enjoy the flex feature which allows them to rent water sprites, or as an above poster said they can use it on a character breakfast. Teh other items you can use it on do change, back pack, picture voucher, picture frames. etc.. I think its really up to you and the way that you personally do "The World".

We booked our trip before I found these boards...so we took the Resort Magic but then I got the idea to upgrade 1/2 of our stay to a deluxe. Did anyone else have confusion upgrading with the package...they were going to make us buy new park tickets at the 2nd hotel...It would have been as cheap to book the entire stay at the deluxe but by the time we upgaded the hotel was booked for the extra days.

One of the flex's that I thought was worth it was the Micky N You photo. It's at Downtown Disney in a little studio -- you have a choice of backgrounds, Castle background was our choice, and you have Mickey all to yourself to pose with. You get quite a pretty good assortment of photos.

Have a nice trip!!!

P.S. The picture we had taken was of our whole family and Mickey but only 'cost' us 1 flex feature. Pretty good deal.

Hi

DH and I stayed at CBR last year and got our flex items at OPR at the resort. We got the picture frame - beautiful, heavy brushed silver with a raised outline of MM on the front (this is a book style frame), and inside a pull-out commerative brushed silver emblem. (My description does not do it justice). We also got the time piece at CBR - Mickey, Pluto and Goofy on an "archeological dinosaur expedition", very cute and very well made. We are glad we got these items as they are very nice souvenirs of our trip. We get a lot of compliments on these items from family & friends.

Hope you can find the items you want and hope you enjoy them as much as we do.
:)
