First, I have to say I have enjoyed reading all your tips. With that, it has put some new questions in my strange little head. I have been to Disney 4 times, but we are staying on the Disney property for the first time ever. We will be staying at PC.

I know for you Disney pros, this is simple, but my question is about these resort IDs. I have read lots of stuff about them, but I'm not sure what they are still. So are they plastic, about the size of a credit card and are your room key, resort ID, and admission media all in one? So each person in your party gets one? We are only going to be there 3 days, so we are getting 2 single day admissions (not sure when we will be back and $ tight). Can we have single days, not just Park Hoppers, put on our room key as well then? I know it's a lot of questions, but that is the one thing I am unsure of what to expect and don't want to be surprised! Thanks in advance! I take all the tips I can get! :jester:

They are the same size and kind as the plastic gift cards that target and other retailers sell.

They have a strip on the back like a credit card does so you can use them to open your room. If you give them a credit card to use for room charging privilages, this will also be a charge card.

Each person in your room gets one. The childrens' cards do not have charging privilages on them but are used for ID in case you are ever asked to show that you are in fact staying on property (only resort guests can use the WDW transportation).

I think you can only buy 1-day passes at the park entrances and I don't think you can hop parks with them. You may want to make a separate post for this one so it can get answered before you go.

If you ordered an Ultimate Park Hopper to included in your stay then, yes, you park admission would be encoded on your cards. I'm not sure if you can get 1-day admission put on your cards, but you could ask at Guest Services when you check in.

Have a great trip.

Thanks so much!
Does anyone know if you can get one day admissions put on your resort ID card? I think I read it on here somewhere, but not sure. Can't you at least buy the one day admissions at the hotel, even if they are not on the resort ID card?

Thanks for the tip. You gotta love it. Anything they can do to make it inconvenient if you want to buy less. Oh well, I will just check guest services when I check in! See you at Disney!

I think that they CAN add 1 day admissions to your room key.

I had a flight that was cancelled, and we got a room for just the night at POFQ, and the check in clerk offered us 1 day admission.

Now, I didn't take it, so I don't know if they would have given me a seperate card, or if it would have been put on the room key, or if he was new and had NO clue what he was doing.

I would call the front desk of Pop or ask Tyler (on the Resorts board) and get a definitive answer.

I do know that when we have purchased park passes in the past at check-in, they have put them on the resort passes.

These days, I usually purchase passes in advance so our resort pass is only used for the room door and to identify us as resort guests (we choose not to get the charging priviliges).

Just a correction, WDW transportation is for resort guests as well as those with multi-day passes, AP's, etc.
