How late you can go to differing resorts to see their decorations? (I'm assuming that seeing them at night is a "must"?)

We are staying at the Poly and wondered if we could still see resorts after the parks close? (We have 2 or 3 nights that are unscheduled to try to do this)

How difficult is it to travel to the other resorts not on the monorail and how late do busses run?

thanks!!!

Thats a very good question as I would love to do something like that but was wondering if this is possible after the parks close as how would you do this if the busses aren't running as we are staying at Pop Century and would love to see the decorations at some of the other resorts

Once the parks close, the only buses go to and from the resorts and DTD. So it might be hard to visit the resorts after the parks close. Unless you can go to the ones close to each other.

Is it possible to take a bus to DTD and then hope on one to one of the other resorts and then do the reverse to get back to your resort

Yes, you can take a bus to DTD and then hop on a bus to another resort or set of resorts. If you want to park hop after resorts close, but preferably at a somewhat reasonable time- I would suggest leaving your park day by taking a bus to a resort with another one nearby- for example the EPCOt resort area at which you can see Boardwalk, Yatch, Beach, Swan, & Dolphin (although the last 2 are not really Disney resorts) or the Port Orleans resorts (after visiting these you can go to DTD by boat instead of bus), the All Star Resorts, or the monorail resorts. Then after viewing the decorations at all the resorts in the area head back to DTD and either another set of resorts or your own resort- just plan to be heading back to your resort by about midnight as you will be getting close to the time buses for DTD stop too. If you do a group each night for a few nights you will get in most of them. The resorts that would have to be visited alone- maybe plan on a meal or go for a midday break are: Pop Century, Animal Kingdom Lodge, Carribean Beach, Coronando Springs, Saratoga Springs, and Old Key West. Wildreness Lodge is actually on the bus route for a number of parks with some of the monorail resorts.

Thanks for this info as I will be sure to remember this as I think it would be somethign to do some evenings after the parks close as it would nice to see the resorts light up with there decorations

It takes a monster-long time to resort hop using the busses. Rent a car for the evening (at Dolphin? or car care center?) and you'll be able to see MANY more resorts in the same amount of time.
