This is cross posted in the disability board: We went in September 2017 to Disney. It was our first trip with six kids, my husband, myself, and a nanny. We stayed at Old Key West, as recommended by the person at Disney who helped us with our booking. My daughter was 2 years old at the time, she has a trach, ventilator, feeding tube, etc.....and we booked a 2 bedroom villa, and it worked out beautifully! We absolutely loved OKW. We are now looking at going back in December 2018. My question is, with the baby, who will be 3 when we go, and all of her equipment, should we stay at OKW, or somewhere else that has Villas? Animal Kingdom? Saratoga Springs? We want somewhere that is disability friendly. TIA!

With nine people, you really want a villa that officially sleeps nine. SSR only officially sleeps eight in a two bedroom villa. AKV - KV has two bedroom villas that sleep nine with the extra twin sized sleeper chair in the living room (along with the queen sized sleeper sofa). Plus Kidani Village also has a third full bathroom in the two bedroom villa. Jambo House only has lockoff two bedroom villas (a combination of a studio with a one bedroom) and they do not have the extra bathroom. BLT also officially sleeps nine with the sleeper chair in the living room and third bathroom just off the entrance to the villa. Both BLT and AKV-KV have elevators to make it easier to get to your villa. OKW will still have the most room of the three, but it doesn't have the third bathroom.

I’m not that up on villas, but I do know some buildings at OKW have elevators, or you could request a ground floor. If you put on your reservation a room request be sure you tell them all the medical Equipment you have to travel with. This will increase your chances of getting a suitable room location. You can also email the room assignor including all your info too around 4-5 days before arrival, including res #.
I went to WDW after knee surgery, and emailed room assignor requesting a location close to amenities and elevator at POR and I got the perfect room for my situation.
