Has anyone stayed at or heard anything about either of these resorts. If you had to choose, what would it be and why?

Also the Holiday Inn Maingate East for $49, how does this compare to the 2 above?

I'm open for other suggestions also?

I truly appreciate any help. I am so confused with all the choices out there.

If you mean the Courtyard in Downtown Disney area, it was fine. I don't think you'd get it for $49 though-maybe I'm wrong - we paid $79 x 5 & $119 x 2 in August - AAA rate. Breakfast NOT included. But hotel was fine- I'd stay in the wing if I had my choice-we had a/c problems (which they were working on) in the tower rooms and moved.

New Courtyard across the Interstate about a 1/2 mile too plus Fairfield & ?Springhill Suites in Little Lake Bryan. They I believe have their own transport service to the parks. Probably more efficient that the multi-hotel Downtown Disney one. That was good but slow.

I can't help you with the others, but have stayed at the Courtyard. We even had a view of fireworks, if I remember correctly we watched the ones from Pleasure Island and could also see the castle off in the distance from our balcony. We had a very large balcony overlooking the front of the hotel (parking lot) It is just a short distance from Downtown Disney, we drove our car there and parked and took the Disney buses from there. You could walk to Downtown Disney, it might be quite a hike for some people, but I thought it was a very managable distance. The hotel does have a shuttle service it shares with the other hotels in the area which for the main parks are scheduled to ick up every half hour. I don't recall if the beds were doubles or queens. We had a sink outside of the bathroom and another in the bathroom. Ice machines on every other floor, Washing machines on the floors that didn't have ice machines. There is a little gift shop in the lobby, a little counter service area where they sell breakfast rolls, juice, cereal, etc in the am. The service at this counter was a little lacking when we were there in Oct. The hotel itself was ok, nothing spectacular, but not rundown. If the price was right I would stay there again if I wasn't so stuck on on-site hotels.

We stayed at Courtyard DD last month and liked it. The bus service was fine and we had a view of DD from our balcony. We could also see illuminations fireworks in the distance. Besides the breakfast bar mentioned above they have a buffet breakfast in their restaurant. This was a big, filling meal offered for $6.95 for adults, about half price for my 6 yo and free for my 4 yo. We didn't eat lunch or dinner there although it is offered. Kids 5 & under are free at all meals. :)

I decided that if I were going to stay offsite, it would be at the Radison Parkway. Mainly for the pool and landscape, but from everything that I've read about it, wonderful. They even offer free transpotation to Universal as well as Disney :) That sounds like a winner to me as I won't rent a vehicle. Gerri

At the Radisson Resort Parkway... The pool is beautiful. Also cold. It is not heated. There is a smaller pool on the other side of the big pool that is heated though. A few nice hot tubs tucked into nice landscaping. Very nice property, we stayed here one night last year before checking into Shades of green. The room we had was at the very back of the building, in the very old section, which was dirty and run down.In this section, there are only 3 or 4 floors( I cant quite remember).I did not like it,BUT... the newer section up front looked very nice. This was a high rise section, with probably 7 or more floors. I think you would be happy here if you could make sure you did not get stuck in the old part in back. The grounds really are beautiful.

We also stayed there a couple of years ago before checking into DL.
We stayed in the newer section and LOVED it!
It's NOT Disney, but for the rate..it is wonderful!
The pools are wonderful!
The above poster hit it right on everything else!

I would definetley consider this resort again!
And it's very close to WDW! ;)
