Resort help...I'm going crazy trying to decide!

My husband and I are going down for a adult only trip in May. The 8th-13th to be exact. We were originally booked at POP. I was very worried about getting double beds so we decided to look into a mod. I was able to book CSR standard view for the 5 nights.

Well now I was looking and can get AKL standard for 100$ more a night. We have never stayed at AKL (or CSR). The kicker is I can only as of now get AKL for the first 3 nights. I was able to book that and then book the last 2 nights at CSR.

So then I looked the other way around and I can do AS Music for the first 3 nights in a king room then move to the Poly for the last two for roughly the same price as the AKL/CSR stay.

So I essentially have 3 bookings right now. 1 full stay and 2 split stay.

CSR standard 8-13

AKL standard 8-11 then CSR standard 11-13.

ASMu standard 8-11 then Poly standard 11-13

I plan on keep checking for rooms to open at AKL for the last two nights but if nothing opens up what should I do?

Keep CSR so we don't have to "downgrade" from AKL to CSR.

Keep the split stay and hope for some pixie dust at checking at AKL that they can find someway to give us a room to stay there for the last two nights and if not just move to CSR.

AKL looks like it would be amazing place to stay but CSR is not too shabby either and is a cost savings. ($500) if I was able to get all 5 nights at AKL.

The Poly is out of the budget for all 5 nights unfortunately but that is my dream stay resort. I'm just worried 2 nights won't be enough.

My park plans are AK on the 8th just to see Rivers of light, HS on the 9th, EP on the 10th and MK on the 11th (doing KTTK tour in the am) & MK on the 12th and AK on the 13th for Pandora preview before we fly home. We will probably park hop some and do want to sleep in and have some resort time. I think we would do more resort time if we are staying at AKL or Poly then CSR if that makes sense.

Please set me straight.....I'm obviously going a bit crazy here!!!!

you say this was a kids only trip - so are your kids coming - or just you and your husband?

if the kids are coming stay with CSR. they will love the pool and you will love the resort.

if just you and husband then might got with ASMu then Poly - love the MK resorts. You don't want to change resorts w/kids

I can't decide either! lol I do really really love the Poly and I think 2 nights is enough but idk if I would be happy personally at All Star Music... if you know you would be happy at All Star Music and be really excited for the Poly, then I say that option :) if not, then I would just do CSR the whole time

Ugh... I meant a no kids trip LOL. It was supposed to say Adult only but I obviously was thinking about the kids LOL!

I'm so torn of what to do. We have not been to WDW without kids since 2003 so I don't know how much resort time we will do vs with kids.

We are staying at BC in August for 12 nights with the kids and plan on doing Poly the following August so I will eventually get my fix either way. Its just a matter of if I should do the two days there now or let it be magical later.

I really wish I could get AKL for the whole time. I think that's a happy medium....I think.

I just don't want to pay more if we don't really use the resort as much. $500 is a lot of food and shopping for us.

Personally, I wouldn't want to waste time moving resorts. CSR is beautiful and great for adult or family trips.

What are the chances that something will be available for the whole time when we check into AKL? Would they try and find us something so we do not have to move?

I'd rather start out at the lower level hotel, and finish my trip at the higher level one. If AKL is booked for your last 2 nights (and especially since you're less than 45 days out), I'd personally try not to get my hopes up about the CMs being able to find you availability. If you'd truly be happy with moving to a Mod if AKL is still booked solid, then it might be OK to take the chance, but if there's any doubt in your mind that you'd be less than happy, I'd not risk it. Poly would be awesome for an adult only trip--Trader Sam's, walking distance to great restaurants at CR and GF, gorgeous surroundings!

Honestly, I'd just stick with CSR. It feels like a deluxe without the price tag of one, and it's very adult-oriented. My husband and I LOVED staying there!

We had a 4 night stay, no kids trip and ended up having a split stay due to room issues. Definitely felt too much time was spent "homeless" with the room change as room was not ready for quite some time after we had to check out of first resort. We did use the time enjoying the pool, but would much rather have remained settled in one place and not felt like we had to kill time in between versus enjoying our day. I think CSR would be good ... spend a little of the saved $ on drinks or a nice dinner as you enjoy the parks and resort sans kids.

I've stayed at both CSR and Poly. If I was in your shoes, I would bite the bullet and spend the extra $$ and stay all nights at the Poly. It's your dream resort, it's awesome...go all in!

I would stay at CSR for all five nights or do the Pop/Poly combo. I'm ok with split stays (never took a lot of time in my experience). My main advice is to do the deluxe portion of your stay at the end of your trip rather than at the beginning, especially if it's your first stay at your dream resort (you risk disappointment moving away form it for the rest of your vacation otherwise, in my experience).

So this is weird, I was playing with the AKL reservation and it will allow me to book the standard room Monday to Monday 8-15 but it won't let me do the Monday to Saturday.

Can I book the Monday to Monday and call and have Disney drop the last two days since the system will not let me do it? I vaguely remember reading something about dropping days on here.

If you're not finding availability Monday to Saturday and if you book Monday-Monday, you would have to ask Guest Services to drop those last 2 days. They might do it, they might not. But they are the only ones that have that ability. You won't be able to do it yourself online and the front line phone CMs won't be able to do it.

That's interesting. Thanks for the info. Wonder why the Monday to Monday but not to Saturday. Obviously they have it available. Is there a direct number to call or just the regular number and ask for Guest services. I'll try calling in the morning.

They don't want an "orphaned" room on Sunday and Monday. There's no direct number for Guest Services, you'll have to call the Main number and ask to be transferred to them.

We love CSR and it has only been topped by AKL, which we were only able to stay a few days in at the end of two trips through a friend with DVC pts, once going from CSR and the other from POP. I agree that going from AKL to CSR would be less ideal than the other way around, but I would do it to stay at AKL anyway if I had the chance! It is so gorgeous, and we are big animal lovers so to us it is amazing. Since we also love CSR, we would not mind going there after, as we enjoy the beautiful landscaping, hammocks along the lake, and queen beds. (Might be slightly less enjoyable with construction now!). Keep checking (as it sounds like you are) to see if you can get AKL for those other 2 nights.

I see it too. Hopefully you can grab this in time. :)

I missed it! I'm so sad!! All there is now is Savannah view and while that would be awesome it's stretching the budget way too much!

I'm going to call anyways today if guest services will not fix it I'll set an alarm for 6am tomorrow to check!

Thank you guys so much for looking for me!!
