My family and I are going to Disney in September and I have been trying to find out some information about the campfire that is held at Wilderness Campgrounds. I keep finding conflicting information about whether you have to be a resort guest or not. We will not be staying on property this trip, but my children would love the campfire. My two year old LOVES!!! Chip and Dale. Does anyone know if we can go if we are staying off property?
Thanks

I have never heard that you have to be a resort guest...and they have never asked me if I was...

Go and enjoy...it is a great time!

and if you goto WL looking for a campfire you might be disapointed. It is held at Ft. Wilderness....

We have gone when staying both onsite and offsite (once). They never checked ID's or anything. My children loved this when they were younger. We missed it this past trip and I was disappointed because I know my 5 year old would have loved it, but we hit the parks big time this trip. Oh well, next trip....

your supposed to be a resort guest of ANY disney property for the campfire.

let us know if you do it and if they check id's. we were thinking about it and staying off property but never had time to do it.

it is opened to all "wdw resort guests". whether they check id's or not is another issue, but it is supposed to be for all "wdw resort guests". now, what you do with that information is up to you! :confused3

We went once. It was extremely crowded. We didn't stay. There was one enormous group that didn't stay onsite, that was visiting campers at FW, though. Don't know about the other people there.

Since it is supposed to be for resort guests, maybe eventually they WILL start checking IDs. Hope so.

They don't check IDs. We went a couple weeks ago, although we didn't stay for the movie because it had been sprinkling/raining.

I don't think they'll ever check IDs, quite honestly. After all, you can go there to see the Hoop Dee Doo show, or eat at the Trail's End without being a resort guest, so why would they close off the campfire? Anyway, it's better to have people going, whether they're resort guests or not, IMHO---it ensures that Disney keeps the program going. And everyone should be able to see Sundee in action at least once in their lifetime.
