My husband and I are looking at coming to Disney December 13-22. Right now I have the little mermaid room booked. I'm debating if this resort will be good for two adults with no kids however. Are value resorts a good idea without kids? Are the beds comfortable?

If you are on a budget, Values are perfectly fine for adults no kids. We have stayed there with no kids many times. Enjoy the new resort!

The values will be great. My favorite is POP. If your husband is a big sports fan look at Sports. The beds are "OK" but for the price, they will do. If you are on a budget I might suggest not staying in AoA- it is more expensive than the other values. For that price you might as well stay at CB or CS. (CS has the best beds of ANY resort I have stayed at including deluxe!!!) I heard on a recent podcast that the beds at AoA were real scratchy because all the linens are new and have not been washed a ton like the others...I wouldn't worry about the fact that you don't have kids- your at DISNEY!!!:yay::yay:

If you can find a package or swing a couple of bucks more I'd suggest POFQ. Romantic grounds, boat to DTD. I just did a quickie look on line and a standard at POFQ is somewhere around $500 more for 10 days depending on the package.

If not, you'll have a great time anyway... you ARE gonna be in Disney, right?

First of all, welcome to the DIS! pixiedust:

DH and I do not have kids. We stayed at POP last year and loved it! It was like a trip down memory lane ... just a fun place to stay. Comfy beds, uber-clean room, food was good in the food court ... we had no complaints.

Having never stayed at AoA since it is new, I can't comment on whether it would be right for you. Best of luck with your decision and if you have more questions, don't hesitate to ask.

It is only my wife and I - we are staying at ASMu. We typically stay at POP but decided to go here for a change. The rooms are really nice for 2 people - double beds, etc..(see the descriptions in the Disney we site). The values are nice because like at Pop, the bus service is good, the food courts are busy but with interesting meals and the pools are warm. For example from Pop, you can get to either the MK or Epcot or HS in about 15 minutes via bus. They have services like the Magical Express, free movies, even dance lessons at POP! Now that the kids are gone, we can enjoy it our way ourselves! We usually go to the parks in the mornings, come back for the pools or naps in the afternoon and then go back at night for dinner and fireworks! Alot of fun.

If you are planning to spend most of your time away from the hotel, I think a value will be fine. If you want to spend more time at the hotel, you might want to look at POFQ as someone above said. It is quiet, smaller and had a hot tub.

While AOA is more expensive than the other values, they (the LM rooms) are not nearly as expensive as the mods. Lots of adults only couples stay at the values and enjoy their stays. While I prefer the mods in general, if our budget only allowed for a stay at a value, I'd definitely do it.

I would, however, avoid the AS resorts, only because they tend to get most of the big groups like the cheerleaders, sports teams and BTGs.

If you can swing the price of a mod, CBR is an excellent choice for two adults.

If you are going for a value, I would say choose the value decor you like best. They are within $10-20 a night for a standard room, so that is what I chose when I was debating which value for July.

Hi
I always liked Pop, but now they have very, very hard mattresses. If you like sleeping on a board, then you'll be ok. I don't know if all the rooms got the new mattesses, but we did and had to change resorts because my DD ended up with terrible backaches. Maybe you'll have better luck if you stay there. Have a great time.
