Hi friends! My mom just passed away last week after a long journey and illness.... My DH asked me last night if I wanted to try to plan a vacation, as something to help us look forward too... I feel bad planning something already but I know she wouldn't want us moping around and not enjoying life either.. I know it will take time to not be so sad. We actually took her with us to DW this past fall.
Anyways- thinking of taking a 3 day cruise and maybe coming to Disney one or two nights and visiting MK... Art of animation is sold out for days I was looking at but the days are not set in stone...
Does October have discounts on rooms generally? And what resort would you recommend for a short stay?

I am so sorry about your mom :grouphug: Sending you prayers.

We took a cruise and spent one night at POR afterwards. We did not go to any parks. We chose POR because it had many quiet pools and the boat to DTD. Since we did not go to the parks, we lounged at one of the quiet pools during the day and took the boat to DTD at night. Worked out well for a one night stay.

Hope planning a vacation helps keep your mind on happier times! Best wishes!

Sorry to hear about your mom. I remember your posts about your trip. I'm glad you were able to take your her to WDW.
I was not able to get my nights for AOA for August, but when I would put in a longer time span( 10 days instead of 7), I was able to book. I did this online and then called to modify the dates. I hope you can do this and it works out for you.

Thanks guys!! I'm so heartbroken but I know things will get better and I'm so glad I have those memories of that trip forever!!

So sorry for your loss.

Any resort will be great. Look at the resort pics of the ones in your budget, and pic the theming you like best. Have fun planning.

Big, big hugs. I lost my mama in November. It's so much harder than I could have imagined. We're going in 34 days and taking my daddy. We started planning about a month after she passed. It's helped me to focus and look forward to something, for sure.

Thank you guys... I am feeling the hugs!!

I definitely think this would make me feel better, at least for a while.. Who can plan a disney vacay and not be happy? :)
