What do you get for the $6.00 resort fee at DLH?
Does this include self-parking--or is self-parking at the hotel free?

Has anyone been sucessful having the resort fee waived if you don't want it?

Thanks in advance!
Sue:)

I don't think you can wave it.. It's for parking (self not valet), daily newspaper and all those little extras you get for staying at a Disney Resort.. If you are driving and parking don't think you could or would want to have it waved.. If you don't drive, dont want a paper then maybe just maybe they will wave it but I doubt it :)

Ok...the main thing was the parking--I wasn't sure if it was included in the resort fee. We will have a car, so we need to park at the hotel.

Thanks!
Sue:)

I think it also is for local phone calls, but I'm not sure. Can anyone confirm or discredit?

The CM told me it was for self parking, daily newspaper, and local calls... I have heard soem people demanded to have it waived and sometimes they did... and sometimes not....
Remeber this is $6 a DAY
I am going to argue to have it waived as we are not using car, don't want a newspaper (for $6), nor do we know anyone to call (can always go to pay booth right?)....

<font face="Comic Sans MS"><font color=navy>Just to add on to funnygarcia's post, that's $6 plus 15% tax, per room, per day.

I'm staying at the Grand Californian next week and I was quoted $6.90 per day for the "resort fee" and $6.00 per day for parking. I assume the resort fee is for use of the hot tub, pools, newspaper, etc. and we have to pay even if we don't plan on using the facilities. I guess besides higher room rates, this is just another price to pay for the convenience of staying on property.

Besides the things listed above, I was told the resort fee also gave you access to the exercise facility. They did not tell me that Parking was included in the resort fee tho!

If the exercise facilities are included in the resort fee, that wouldn't be too bad. We stayed at the BoardWalk Inn at WDW last November and I think I paid an additional $40 to use their gym.....I opted for the "length of stay" rather than $10 per visit. Of course this is on top of the resort fee already charged to us!

... on the resort fees is just like everyone has mentioned including gym access.

The resort fee was inclusive of the package we booked and there was no option to waive it however for $525pp for 4 nights at the GC inc 5-day UHPs, I no complain! :D
