You request it through the Lyft app. Minnie vans only operate on Disney property so you have to be picked up at another Disney resort or DS.

I will be at another Disney resort so that’s not a problem. Is it a special request on Lyft app or any car I request on Lyft to Disney would be a Minnie van?

You request a Minnie Van specifically. You can try it out at home. Just put the pick-up point at your resort and drop off at the CR. You will see all option and pricing. Pricing is current for that moment in time but in my experience it doesn’t change much for Minnie Van’s.

Yes, they are more expensive. We use them because they have car seats and we have littles.

Yes it certainly is more expensive but the cast members are great and if you need car seats they will have them as well.
Most importantly though they will be able to get you to the CR as opposed to the lyft or uber.
Take the photo and then walk to MK and enjoy the rest of your day.

Is there a specific reason you won’t take Disney transportation since you’re staying at WDW resort? If you don’t want to pay for a Minnie Van right to CR, it’s honestly much more convenient to just take a bus to MK & walk to CR than it is to take an Uber to TTC.

I want to arrive at contemporary about 1.5-2 hours before park opening time take a quick pic and then walk to MK to be there well before opening so Disney transportation timing wouldn’t work.

Ok knowing you're staying at a Disney resort I'd just be taking Disney transportation.
Not sure why you think you need to arrive at CR TWO HOURS prior to MK if all you want to do is take a pic at the Mickey head.
It takes like 60 seconds and most of the time no one is bothering to stop in the morning.
If it were me I'd stake the earliest bus to MK and walk over.

I believe the Minnie Vans don't start running until 6:30am. So whether that fits your timeline may depend on time of year and park-opening time.

This is definitely the easiest option.

And I believe they’re kind of hard to get at park opening. So you could be waiting awhile til you get 1 & miss your time frame anyway.

Yes. But what the poster is saying is that the time given might be super long. There are a limited number of Minnie Vans.

Yes it will give the time in the lyft app but there are a lot less minnie van drivers than lyft/ubers and not as many start a shift that early but it is certainly do able.
