I thought Christmas decorations always magically appear Friday after Thanksgiving?

Resorts will mostly be decorated by your date. Some of the big gingerbread features might not be fully finished.

There'll be a few that won't be decorated yet. However, if you're staying till Sunday, you may get to see all you're hoping to see. A CM told me once that they're usually finished over that weekend.

That's our usual week to go, and some years I've not gotten to see the GF's decorations which went up over the weekend.

The gingerbread sales counter at the back of the GF gingerbread house will likely be open before then. Some tasty treats to be had if you enjoy gingerbread.

Do check out BC/YC. The BC gingerbread carousel will probably be done or nearly so, and the YC electric train layout is gorgeous. Both are worth a bus ride to see them, IMO.

Thanks for all the info, I’ve never scheduled a resort hop day, and I’m really looking forward to the entire day, even if we just catch some holiday decor it will be a plus

Quite welcome.

If you haven't already planned meals, it could be fun to do a progressive dinner at the monorail resorts--appetizer at one, entree the next and dessert the last. You could easily do that at their QS (the chicken with brie sandwich at the GF is deelish) and grab holiday treats for dessert.

Many people feel WL has prettier decorations than the monorail three. Could be fun to get dessert at the CR and then walk back to the MK, catching the WL boat for drinks there and a look at that spectacular Northwest US-decorated lobby. Settling into rocking chairs by the fireplace can be a lovely way to end the day.

Whatever you choose, have a marvelous time!

I’m so excited about this ladies trip, it will be my first stay on my own dvc points (been renting from friends the last 5 years), it will be my first stay at GF, first trip with a scheduled resort hop day, and we are celebrating age and health on this ladies/ friendship trip! Our senior of the group turned 72 years young this year and wants to ride “heaven” (FOP) and my closest friend and coworker is celebrating victory over colon cancer during the crazy year of 2020-2021. Thanks again for all the resort day suggestions… we all love the idea of food & drink hopping :)

Ladies trip sound amazing. Highly recommend monorail hopping to narrow down your resort hopping and ease of travel. Enchanted Rose Lounge at GF is lovely and I would absolutely enjoy myself here with my female friends. Maybe even a progression to Citricos for dinner!

I love, love, love Trader Sam's, but it's a bit of a pain. You need to have one person line up an hr before opening to get your name on the list. The drinks and entertainment is super fun and it's a one-of-a-kind/truly Disney experience, but the environment is not as relaxing and kind of loud depending on the antics going on when you're there.

Wilderness Lodge's Geyser Point is a lovely option as well. Very peaceful, quiet, and great food + drinks. Plus you'll get to see the Wilderness Lodge lobby, which I think is one of the most perfect resorts for the holiday theme.

Out there, but an interesting option, is AKL. Jambo House is wonderful, and has a fabulous tree - similar to WL's (same architect) - during the holidays (if it's up in time).
