We are booked at Beach Club for 10 nights with 3 kids 9-14 and I saw a room at Grand Floridian and Polynesian come available today. Is it worth switching?

Polynesia is Garden View Club Level
Grand Floridian is Lagoon View
Beach Club is Standard View

Please help before they get booked :)

If you're staying during warm weather, I would stay at Beach Club because Stormalong Bay is a fantastic, sandy bottom pool complex with lazy river, pirate ship-themed waterslide, and three hot tubs. No other Disney pool compares. If you're staying in winter, I would go with Grand Floridian.

The BC reservation will be a lot cheaper than the other two resorts, so I'm not sure what the "worth" would be. Since you have such a long trip, maybe you would consider a split stay and get the best of both locations. :)

I would move to the Poly - absolutely. For one reason - you get to be near EPCOT for the part of the trip when you do EPCOT and HS and you will be staying near MK when you do MK. It saves a lot in traveling. When we don't stay at a MK resort - the bus to get back to the resort from MK is always a pain late at night. We usually have to wait for a few buses before we get on. For another reason - the Poly is just so relaxing for us. We love the BC but the Poly is just so relaxing and always end our trip there. We do split stays all the time - it really gives you the feel of 2 vacations. Let us know what you do. Enjoy!

Worth is subjective as it's different for everyone, but it would be worth it (to me) to switch to the Poly. We've stayed at all 3 (although not CL at the Poly) and while we had a nice time at the BC, the Poly is our favorite, with the GF a close second. We found the Epcot area is be nice, but we prefer being in the MK area on the monorail. Hope you have a great trip at whichever resort you choose :wizard:.

It depends on where you are spending the majority of your park time - MK or EP/DHS. If it's MK, I'd probably switch (GF would be my choice, Poly pool has no shade and I'm not a fan of the restaurants at Poly). If you will spend more time at EP/DHS, I would keep what you have. Tons to do within walking distance and one of the best pools on property.

I'd stay put. Chalk up the Poly and GF for future trips. There is something to be said for sticking with your gut and trying all the different hotels over time.

We are from Seattle so airfare for our family of five is $$$ so this is a big trip for us and we probably won't be back for awhile unfortunately.

I thought a split stay would be fun but with the free dining promo a split stay was significantly more $$$.

I understand. I will say after our split stay BC was our favorite of the two so I would stick with that.

We've also given up free dining and paid OOP for food bc we received a great TA rate on our room for the end of August. For us it ended up being worth it.

Oh, this is a tough choice. Do any of the resort themes appeal to you more than the other? Beach Club and Poly scream family friendly to me. I love the GF too and am staying there in October, but it just has a different vibe.

CL Poly will not be cheap, and neither will GF. Could you see yourself utilizing the Club Level offerings? Would you find that valuable based on the price increase?

Poly is unique in that you can walk to the TTC and take the Epcot monorail directly or the boat to MK.

Stormalong Bay at BC is definitely a fantastic pool, but Poly's new Volcano pool is probably one of the next most exciting pools on property.

What do your park and dining plans look like? If you have everything booked for Epcot and BC, maybe stay put. If you have a lot of MK days and meals on the monorail, it may be easier for you if you switch.

10 nights? I'd split if it were me. Poly/BC or GF/BC is a nice split for many folks. I know that's not what you asked, sorry about that.

If you're going during the holidays, Grand Floridian hands down. In hot months- Polynesian. We like the BC, but I think the pool is completely overrated, and it's always packed in warm weather. It's also not conducive to small children, given the layout.

We typically stay at the GF, but since we are going in August, decided we'd love to go back to the aloha vibe of the Polynesian. I also think the dining/drinking options are better at the Poly.

Split between poly and BC! They are our two favorites :) my husband, DD10, DS11, DS14, and I are splitting them June 27-July 5! (Ugh...need to start packing!!)

The OP has already stated a split stay would cost more.

Anyway, I would choose the Polynesian. I think the Grand is beautiful but over time I haven't been impressed with their service.

The Polynesian isn't really my style as far as decor but the rooms are bigger and being able to walk to the TTC is a plus. It's also more kid friendly.

I'm in the minority, but the Poly does nothing for me. You need to break down the costs and see what the differences in price would be for all three hotels. That may have an impact on what hotel you choose, since Club Level at Poly will the significantly more. If you are utilizing the dining plan, do you really want to pay for Club Level, too?

Add me to the group that doesn't love the Poly, but the rooms are bigger and the walk to the TTC is very convenient. Personally, I would choose BC. The convenience to EP and DHS is priceless to me. I honestly don't think that you can make a bad choice here. GF is my bucket list resort. Soemday the cost will make sense for us...I hope!
