Trying to find out if we can park at Port Orleans and take the boat to DTD?
We are staying at AKL and thought it would be neat to take the boat instead of driving over.

And if so....would it be a pain to do it...better to drive instead? I'm not sure how you would get to DTD from AKL othrwise.

Yes, you can park at POR, they will issue you a 2 hr guest parking pass. Bring your AKL KTTW card, they will ask for proof that you are a WDW guest. They may even ask for photo ID at the gate.
When we stayed at AKL, we wanted to go visit POR to check it out for a future stay, and this is what we had to show.

Driving would be easier but not as much fun. I would go there look around the resort and take the nice boat ride to DTD. Then take the boat ride back and maybe try and see a little of Yeehaa Bob before driving back to AKL.
We have yet to be given any timed parking pass, the guard has just looked at our resort parking pass on the dash and waved us on. On non-park days we will sometimes drive to CR and rail it to GF and then POLY and then back to CR.

Curious......who is Yeehaa Bob?? Sounds fun!

We did the same thing during Spring Break. We drove up and showed our KTTW cards and went right in! We parked at French Quarter and waited for the boat. It was a nice boat ride to DTD. Then that night, we took the bus back to POR. It seemed like a much longer bus ride as we made every stop in POR to PFQ, but as my boys say...it was an adventure!! :goodvibes
