Does anyone know why the decorative pillows and comforters or throws that appear in the resort promo photos are no longer in your resort room? We stayed at POR last August and I just assumed it was hot so they had no need to provide any comforters, but wondered why no pillows? Then we just stayed last weekend at AKL, nothing, just a blank white double sheeted bed?

am I the only one happy to hear this news?? I throw bed spread, comforters and pillows on the floor when I enter any hotel room because I don't know when those were last cleaned!

I'm not a fan. I don't like the look of 2 stark white beds staring at me when we arrive. But yeah, that's the trend.

I agree however some of the resorts have this little tiny throw that just sit at the bottom of the bed, you can't cover up with it and others have unique decorative pillows- not like a holiday inn bedspread- those are gross. It's disappointing to walk into a room and just see white sheets. It's devoid of all theming and just looks so boring. Especially when all their promo shots of the resort rooms show them. It's not the end of the world but the theming aspect of resort remodeling has gone modern, clean lines (which is good, but when the room has no major theming in it, it's a bummer.

There are pillows and the sheets are a flat sheet with a thicker blanket over them (depending on the season) and then a white duvet cover on top. You don't have to bring your own blanket, there is bedding it's all just plain, boring white. We stayed at POR in August and there are sheets to cover with, you don't need a blanket unless you want to bring one.

I’m one of those who prefers to see the plain white bed. I throw anything else (runners, comforters, decorative pillows) on the ground anyway. Saves me the trouble if they’re not there to begin with.

Disney started triple sheeting a few years ago.
Its mostly due to how often or lack there of really the heavy bedspreads were actually washed.
I'm fine with the new clean crisp look however I loved having a heavy spread on me. I get cold easily so while others want the AC blasting I want to be covered up plus I can't sleep well if I don't have a certain mount of weight on me.
I now bring a fleece blanket from home and make sure I pack fuzzy socks and flannel pajamas no matter the time of year I go.

I'm one of those people who prefer having the decorative runners and pillows. It gives the room more theming. I know its a sanitary issue but I throw the pillows and runner on the floor when I sleep anyway so the sanitary issue doesn't really bother me since I'm not sleeping with them. I stayed at Poly in January which was my first deluxe and I saw the pictures online, and thought it was so pretty. But then I check into the room and it just made the room look so plain having the all white bedding. If I'm paying a lot of money I would at least want a better looking bed. But it seems like I'm in the minority and most people like the minimalist approach.

Yesssss- my feelings exactly!! And while I like clean lines at my home, when I'm at WDW I like what makes it fun and unique. I can get white plain beds at any other hotel chain. Plain white is not Disney! I toss all the embellishments on the floor or a chair too, I just like to see them. And the decorative bedding may be gross but the most dirty/germy item in most hotel rooms is the TV remote---ewwww

The "blanket" is literally as thin as a sheet so I say its triple sheeting as there are 3 layers.
One really thin sheet, one really thin "blanket", and one more sturdy crisp sheet. Most don't even have the decorative runner anymore.
If you ask for an extra "blanket" be prepared to still be cold. This is why I'd recommend bringing one from home if you want an actual blanket

I first encountered the triple sheeting in December 2013 while sharing a bed at POP.
I was very unprepared for it. I did have pj pants and a t-shirt but ended up putting sweatpants and a thick zip up hoodie on over that with the hood up and still ended up purchasing a fleece blanket in the park to use the next night.

can not say for Disney but at hotel I worked at if you had your blanket on bed the bed would not be touched. would do rest of room but not allowed to touch that bed

I'm glad the decorative things are gone. They basically lived on the floor, but then they would be placed on the presumably clean sheets and pillowcases. Huh? That made no sense.

I basically ask for an extra blanket at every hotel I check into. I need more weight on top of me, and I get cold. The ones at Disney are not that thick, but they are king sized so I can fold one in half.

Ok just LOLd. Was looking up resort merchandise on eBay and came across bed runners from several WDW resorts up for sale. I guess ppl stealing them was an issue. They’re all over eBay. I suppose I could buy a runner and just pack it with me to jazz up my resort room bedding.
