Hi...this is my first post here, so please be gentle with me.

I've already posted this in the Resorts forum and someone suggested I ask here.

I'm scheduled for knee replacement surgery in mid-May. We're planning a family trip to WDW for mid-December. I'm hoping (fingers crossed here!) that my knee will be feeling wonderful by then. But hoping isn't the same thing as it actually happening (even at the happiest place in earth).

Several people have suggested to us that we stay at the Pop Century because it's not spread out quite as much as some of the other resorts. Anyone agree or suggest a different place?

This is my first trip since my knees have started bothering me. My DH and I will be accompanied by our children and their spouses (in their 30's) and our one and only grandchild who will be 3 years old then. I'm worried about slowing everyone else down and spoiling their trip.

I guess what I'm looking for is resort suggestions from anyone who has been in a similar situation. I don't need a handicap room...just hoping to get one with as little walking as possible.

Right now, I'm not feeling at all excited about this trip and I really want to! This will be our 4th trip to WDW (and our grandson's very first!) and I want to enjoy it as much as the first three times.

Anything to suggest?

Thanks in advance....

If you have a car, I would suggest POR, our room was facing the parking lot with handicap parking right there. It was a long walk to the main area, restaurant etc, but there was parking close by. I've heard that POFQ is a small, less walking resort.

Sorry I can't be of more help. Hope all goes well with your knee.

A preferred room at All-Star Sports or All-Star Music will get you in the building closest to the main building. I believe they've added some preferred buildings to All-Star Movies and to Pop Century, so it's not quite as guaranteed that your will be in the very first building.

Also, if your knee is not quite there yet, consider renting an ECV from a rental place in Orlando. My hubby had knee replacement almost two years ago, and he still uses his ECV at WDW. He doesn't use it quite as much as he used to, so I get to ride some, but over several days at WDW, he couldn't cover the ground we cover without it.
