Meals non-MW:
Cereal
Bagels/cream cheese

Sub fixin's
cinnamon rolls

I am sure there is a lot of other stuff, but I can't think of them now.
I do always make a casserole to eat the first night there.

Creativity is the key!

For the room I bring:
bread
peanut butter
jelly
bagels
butter
serving size boxes of cereal (great for snacks, too)
pop tarts
apples

For snacks:
pretzels
used to bring fruit snacks, but the kids have outgrown them
granola bars

That's about all, now that the kids are older I don't really carry snacks into the parks, mostly just water unless our meals are expected to be at odd times and I'm anticipating a meltdown.

Pop tarts
Cereal
Goldfish crackers
Beef Jerky
Pringles (the shorty cans are great for in the backpack)
dried fruit (I buy the big bags at Costco)

we always take:

bread
peanut butter
apples
bananas
grapes
pop tarts
muffins made at home
milk (we bring a cooler)
juice boxes
2 liter cola (in cooler)
chips
beef jerky
atkins bars (not good for the park, though, they melt)
microwave popcorn (100 calorie bag-great for a snack while others shower before bed)
goldfish crackers

pop tarts
oatmeal (we use the cups and coffee pot for hot water)
bags of snacks
juice boxes
cans of soda
chips and salsa
individual cereals
milk

my dd9 always seems like she has a tapeworm on vacations. She is hungry ALL the time when we are on trips.. she never eats like that at home SO I always prepare for it. She has her own fannypack (we call it her "nerdbag") that she wears to help feed the tapeworm. We bring

disney fruitsnacks
little bagies of goldfish crackers
handi-snak cheese and crackers
beef jerky (like little slimjims)
snack size m&ms
raisins
fruitdrink handypacks (to add to a FREE glass of icewater from any counterservice)

For breakfasts we have
mini cups of cereal and milk
bagels and creamcheese
poptarts
carnation instant breakfast (in the cans)

I only bring for breakfast as I would miss out on the yummy foods for lunch/dinner.

We bring 2 boxes of cereal & one has to be one that I will eat so it is usually Rice Krispies or Cherrios (they like them too).

I bring pop tarts. I have brought bagels & butter-my son is allergic to dairy and they don't have Earth Balance in the World just the Fleishmans & that has no taste. I didn't bring milk this time & bought it there. But I may next time-the soy & regular milk that don't need to be refrigerated.

I have brought oatmeal packets but that was pre kids & I really have no interest in getting up & walking to Captain Cooks to heat it up only to walk back to the room to eat it.

For snacks I have brought down potato chips, tortilla chips & salsa, pop corn, RK treats (non-milk ones thanks to Target brand!), non-dairy/peanut/treenut cookies for my son, gum (but that only comes on on the plane), some candy-again for the plane.

I think I brought banana's but only because they would of gone bad if I left them at home.

Pepperoni slices in a bag (they don't need to be refrigerated until they are opened) as my kids like them & Ritz crackers. I brought a can or two of tuna since my 6 year old (the one with the allergies) likes tuna.

I think I have done single serving packets of some snacks as well since they are easy to throw in my bag & this way the kids don't fight over "he got more then me."

We are going to Orlando for 2 weeks. For the room I'm bringing:
Bread
Cheese (hard and sliced)
turkey
ham
condiments
potatoes (we have a microwave)
ranch
canned chicken (for potatoes)
canned chili (for potatoes too)
spaghetti
eggs
syrup (for french toast)
sausage
bacon
tons of fresh fruit
different crackers and things to put on them (PB, cheese ball....)
tons of fresh veggies (broc & carrots min)
a couple of large tubs of organic lettuce mix
fruit chewies
peanuts (and more little things like that)
I feel like I'm leaving off some stuff. Our breakfast is free with the room and we have a large fridge to store all of this.

For the parks I'll pack cut up veggies, whole fruit and a couple of sandwiches. We are also bringing our own drinks.

Well, we always book a place with a kitchen. I just can't hang with eating out of a motel room.

So, we make meals like:
Chicken, noodles, salad
ground meat tacos with tortillas

Easy meals but we do cook.

In the parks we carry an Igloo brand backpack cooler and fill it with:

Waters/Drinks (at least one fully frozen for our "ice pack")
a tupperware box full of sandwiches (so they don't squish)
string cheese
granola bars
sliced apples
raisins
craisins
pringle can fits on side pocket
nuts
goldfish crackers
ritz and cheese slices

The above is for lunch and snacks for 5 of us

At Walmart you can get a large one pound bag of trail mix and I bring ziplock bags to put it in to take the parks.

Breakfast bars
Bananna's
Fish snack crackers love the new cinninamon and sugar ones.
Popcorn - microwave

A clever trick we did when we stayed at a value last fall was to buy a plastic tote box. Each morning we would take it to the ice machine and fill it up and put our pop / water in it. When we came back to the room at the end of the day there was still a good bit of ice in it. Once we got back to the room we would dump it out in the tub and refill it with ice and by morning there was still ice. Mind you it was 85 to 90 degree's outside and our room temp was 68 during the day.

What a great thread! I was just thinking about these things the other day.

* Easy Mac (just add water and then microwave)
* Fruit Leathers
* Cliff Bars
* Oatmeal
* Baked Chips
* Indicidual packs of nuts and trail mix
* Paper plates and plastic utensils
