Resolution/DPI

I am just starting to figure out this T-shirt design thing... I was up until 2am last night... it is so addictive. I am working with photoshop and I was wondering what resolution you set your files at. It looks like 8.5 X 11 at 72 DPI? Does 72 dpi come out clear? TIA

I keep mine set at 72 and as long as your original image is clear - this resolution is fine
