resident passes with Time Share ownership

We have just purchased a Time share in Kissimee- bought it outright on Ebay-what a deal! (only way to go if you are thinking time share) Anyway, we have heard that owning a time share counts as owning property in Florida and you can therefore get resident prices on passes. We do have the deed to the time share, if this matters. Does anyone here know if this is true or how it works?? Would be great if true, as it would save us big $$$!

Apparently it all depends on the cm you get when you try to get them .Some demand Florida ID some will take a utility bill -although Disney are trying to stop this route .You can only apply and keep asking to talk to someone higher up the chain until you get the right answer.

We have owned at Disneys OKW since 92 we are not considered residents, you need alot more than this. Utility Bills, driver licenses, etc. Someone else probably knows more. We would have loved to get the Florida residents discounts, cruises, etc.

I would at least ask. I think it depends on the CM.
Our situation at the end of last year was a little *different*.
We had APs. DH was living in FL, but in relocation (paid temporary housing).
Our APs were up for renewal the first week of January, about the time we would be moving to FL.
In early December he was at a park and went to guest services to ask how to handle this.
We knew we wanted to renew for FL PAPs.
At that time we did not know the exact day of our move, nor where we would be living. (Again being set up in temporary paid housing in an apartment. He was living out of a Holiday Inn at the time.)
He just wanted advice on how best to handle this.
The CM went backstage and spoke to his manager. He returned and said he had permission to sell DH our FL PAPs there and then. But he even added this was unusual, and DH better take the opportunity while he could -- as the next CM should not allow this.
DH bought our PAPs with no proof of residency.
It can be done. But certainly does not seem to be the norm.

I think my brother's inlaws, who own a condo in Fl and a home in NY, use a Fl id card to get their passes. They are in FL a little less than 1/2 a year. But perhaps it's the difference between Timeshare, and Condo. You'll know when you try to get your pass.

I own 4 TS in Fla plus BWV and BCV with DVC and I have not been able to get a Florida pass.

A few years ago it stated in the Unofficial Guide Book to Disney that you could and that's why I tried. I asked several different CM and the answer was always no.
