Reserved a car today just in case ME a mess

I love having a rental car at WDW. Was willing to try ME this trip because it's free and because DH and DD arrive 1 day before me (I have to stay behind one day to see DS off on another trip) - and it's only a week long trip. But all this discussion is getting me nervous. I reserved a car on Emerald Aisle for $107 today, and if there are serious problems by June 1st, I'll send DH and DD on ME May 31st (good luck! ), and pick up the rental car myself the next day. I don't want to arrive in the evening June 1st and not get my bags until who knows when. Will cancel my ressie if things are going smoothly with ME.

Don't feel bad... I did the exact same thing!! We are booked with ME, but, I rented a car while I wait to hear how everything goes with ME. I was afraid if I didn't rent the car now the price would go up, so, I also booked with National for $107. I can't wait to hear the reviews!!! 3 more days to go!!!

I am all for ME and hope to use it for our Nov and Dec trips. Due to all the confusion we just decided last Friday to rent a car for our trip on May 14 and give up on ME. We have never rented a car while in Disney so we are kinda looking forward to having some freedom with it. I will miss saving the $$ by using ME, but for this trip I am going to save myself the stress. I just want all the kinks to be worked out.

Why not send your luggage with DH and DD the day before. They are allowed 2 pieces each, even 3 on Southwest. Then, your luggage will be in your room with DH and DD when you arrive.

I just might do that if I can get my act together in time! I am seeing my 18 yo DS off on a school trip to Europe the next morning, then getting on a SW flight to Orlando an hour or so later. Will save me some time if I load the other 2 down with my bags!
