reserve 2-2 bedroom villa and waitlist 3 bedroom villa

I have a question that I hope you can help with. I would like to resreve a 3 bedroom villa for Thanksgiving (11/23-11/27) BUT there is only partial availibility, so I have waitlisted the whole stay. Can I book 2-2 bedroom villas and continue the waitlist, is that ethical hoping the 3 bedroom comes through? The 2 bedroom villas are available now and it is at OKW, our home resort. I would appreciate ANY input. TIA

I don't see a problem with what you want to do. Take what is available right now and if the Grand Villa wait-list comes take that.

Waitlists can be set up to replace a reservation so there's nothing un-ethical about it. It's not uncommon to book but waitlist for something else. What I don't think you can do is set up a waitlist to replace 2 rooms so if you were needing the points from both to fill the waitlist for the GV that could be a problem. If only need the points from one of the 2BR's then it work out fine.

I have enough points from the UY 2016 for the grand villa and I could borrow points from 2017 if needed for the to cover the remaining points for the 2-two bedroom villas. Is that what you are talking about?

Kind of. Just letting you know that the waitlist could be set up to cancel and use the points from one of the 2BR's, but not both. Once you book the two 2BR's you'll have that number of points tied up in those reservations. If you waitlist for the GV AFAIK you can set it up to replace one of those rooms so the points from one of those rooms would be used towards the new GV reservation but the difference in points would need to come from what you have remaining or from borrowing. But once you have the GV you could cancel the second 2BR and if those points were bankable and you were in your banking window you could do that.
