Reservations Wanted for our Wedding! 200 to 450pts, April 2010

Hello!

We would like to rent points for our Disney Wedding. Our wedding location is the Boardwalk, and we need a place for our honeymoon night. With the Disney wedding, we can't afford to buy DVC this year, so we have to find the right rental....

Need a 1BD (standard or preferred view) at Disney's Boardwalk Villas for April 2-5, 2010; that's 158 or 176 points. Those are must-have dates, unfortunately. IF 1BD are unavailable, we can pay for a 2BD (standard or preferred view) based on availability and price; looking at 270-290 points there.

We're also interested in a 2BD (value, standard or savannah view) at Animal Kingdom Villas for April 1-5, 2010; that's 208, 232 or 294 points. Our family will want to stay near Boma (in Kidani), the site of our wedding's Rehearsal Dinner, but Kidani or Jambo House are both acceptable.

It's a lot of points, so we are looking for a reasonable deal from $7-9pp.

Thanks for your help, Stuart. I understand that availability is limited. I changed the types of rooms in my first post and added some more details based on your findings.

I almost wish we had planned the wedding in the Fall during value season, but it's too late to change it now. I can try to book bigger rooms, but in doing so, I have to pay a bit less per point.

I would love to work out this availability and pay for a DVC rental. If you have an offer, please contact me!

It is a lot of points since it's for the wedding and the Honeymoon. We would prefer to pay one seller, although we may end up paying two sellers, one for each reservation, if it comes to price.

Thanks for the messages. I talked to Mikron and his friendly SIL today! That was the good news. The bad news is that DVC does not have availability for us in one or two bedroom vacation homes at BVW or AKL for our Disney Wedding reservation dates: March 30-April 5, 2010 and/or April 1-5, 2010. Mike has graciously allowed us to try the DVC wait list for a while to see if anything opens up...

The extra space of a DVC room for the wedding would be extremely helpful. Due to the proximity of our wedding sites, the other Disney resorts are out of the way. So, we have to sit tight. (SS or OKW are still available this Easter, which might help someone booking for early April.)

Disney brides that are even considering renting DVC points for a member, do not hesitate like we did! If booking a vacation home with Disney's standard rates in Peak season isn't in the cards for you (Princess and the Frog reference ), type in your rental requests as soon as possible! We are not in the position to buy DVC points with our wedding and Honeymoon so soon, but we feel sure that we will join in and invest in DVC as a fellow buyer someday.

To other new renters searching for solutions on this board, I hope you find a trustworthy seller as we did. I cannot recommend this DIS rental process highly enough!!

I will keep this thread updated on what happens with the wait list.
