I think the answer to this question is no, but I want to ask to be sure. I have a Boardwalk view 1BR booked at BWV this August. I'm booked Sunday through Thursday nights, checking out on Friday. I'm considering adding Friday night to the reservation, but I don't have enough points to do so. Can I book a BW-view room with a member cash discount?

I think you should be able to if there are DVC cash rooms available with the discount. Then I think you have to ask to have the 2 ressies linked together so that you don't have to switch rooms. Only MS can tell you if they have any availability on cash. (You can make DVC discounted cash ressies starting at 11 months out so you may be too late...) Call MS tomorrow and good luck!

From what I have heard, boardwalk view is not available for cash. Call Member Services to confirm.

That is my understanding as well but it doesn't hurt to try.

Usually they only offer Preferred (non-BW) View for cash reservations.

I called MS this afternoon, and the official answer is 'as long as there's availability, a BW-view room can be booked on a cash rate.' Unfortunately, there was no availability.

Other than Samantha Brown, I haven't heard of the BW view being available for cash.

What if I have enough points for a Sunday thru Friday reservation (standard studio), but I rent another members points for Friday night to Saturday? Can the two reservations be linked? :3dglasses

Potentially. The answer is yes if the unit type is the same but no if there's any variations such as one being a lockoff and the other a dedicated 2 BR.
