Hi all, sorry if this is an ingnorant question, but is it necessary to make advanced ressies for meals at USF/IOA/CW? TO give you more info, we will be there for 4-5 nights mid July and were interested in trying Mythos, Margaritaville, Hard Rock, and Tchoup Chop (open to suggestions as well). We will be staying onsite at RPR. I made ADR's for Disney but am less educated abotu what to do at Universal. Thanks for any advice you can give!:goodvibes

Definitely make reservations for Mythos and Tchoup Chop, I'm not sure if they're necessary/available for Margaritaville and Hard Rock. Don't know if your interested in the food/music but we had a great evening at Bob Marley's.

Emiril's and Tchop Chop are the only two you need to make in advance.

For the others there is an information stand at the entrance of City Walk where you can make a reservation during the day.

Here's my page with more info and pictures of the menus.

How far in advance can you make reservations at Tchoup Chop? We're going in September, and when I try the Open Table website, it tells me that I have exceeded the maximum time to make a reservation.

Also, we'll have some small children in our group, so we thought it might be better to do lunch there, instead of dinner.....maybe it would be a little more "kid friendly" then. Any comments about taking small children to Tchoup Chop?

Thanks for your help!

if you are a party of 7 or more. make reservations. we got burned from the whole we are staying on site thing at margaritaville.

No Problem.

Margaritaville gets very crowded around 8pm. The wait with a room key is 20 minutes, and 1 hour for those who don't have a key or ressie.

You can go online to www.HardRockCafe.com and do what they call a PX. You just make your reservation, print it off and hand it to the hostess inside. You will sit right down. You can do this 30 days before your reservation! We did it twice and both times the wait was 1.5 hours and we sat in 5 minutes.

The Tchoup Chop lunch experience can't compare to dinner. WE liked our lunch there, but the dinner was superb with a much more extensive menu. They do have a kids menu.

Make your reservations before you go if you can. We had a nightmare trying to make reservations during our stay at the HH - not because it was busy (the restaurants were empty when we walked in without having a reservation), but because when I called from the room, we got transferred 3 times, had to leave a voice message and then never got a call back!

What made me laugh was that I was asked to complete a review when we got home about what are experience was like. I had nothing but glowing remarks except for the reservations thing. The reply was "thanks for your input". Oh well, we still enjoyed ourselves, but in hindsight, I'd make the reservations beforehand.
