We will be going on our first ever Disney Trip in May. DH has been many times, while the kids and I have never been. Something has been "bugging" me a bit...

I called to add another day on to our stay :woohoo: and, at that time, I
advised her that our camper was listed at 32' when it was actually 32'6".
She then listed our camper as 40'... she said "it only goes in whole numbers and being a bit too large is better than too small"

Now... I am wondering if what she has done is a good thing.. or if it will limit us to what loop we are placed on due to the size she has listed?

Also, we are looking for a place to stop overnight. While Savannah, GA is about half-way, we will be making the 2nd leg of the trip on a Monday morning. I have heard that traffic is awful in Jacksonville. So, I am wondering if it would be best to drive a bit further than half way on Sunday in order to
possibly miss some of the bad traffic while heading to Disney on Monday morning. Any campground recommendations/city info would be appreciated.

Thanks!

As far as listing as bigger, I don't think it will be a problem "unless" you also want to set up a tent on your site. The sites with the longer driveways tend to have very small sand pad areas.

If you want to make it thru Jacksonville, I know of a place in St. Augustine that is near the Interstate that might be good. It's a state park and should be reasonably priced for you. I would not recommend coming thru Jax between 0700 and 1000. It's a madhouse for the most part. Trust me I live in it. Hope this helps you.

Thanks for the link for the SP. However, it says maximum length is 35'.
I called, sounds like we will just fit. Thanks...

Since it is our first trip, I am not really too sure which would be more beneficial.. a longer driveway or bigger sandpad? We definitely want to be able to have enough width in back plus room to open our awning?

Thanks again.

Width for awning should be fine. We have a 30' and had no problems with the sites we have had on either trip. However, on the first trip the concrete did end a little short and made the front of our tow vehicle come right up to the edge of the road. This was the case with the 5th wheels on the other side too which made backing in tight. We could have dealt with a little longer concrete parking pad so we could have got further back into the site. But the width was plenty with both sites. I think generally all of them are pretty wide.

By listing at 40' the only limitation you get may be that you get put in the newer loop where they put all of the big, long 40-45 buses and extra long motorhomes. If that is the case, you may have to ask someone to move their towed to allow you enough room to get by with the front of your tow vehicle.
