Reservations at SSR for owners of other DVC resorts...

Has anyone heard when owners of other DVC resorts will be able to start making reservations at SSR? I'm assuming that the people buying in to SSR will have a period of time to make reservations before the rest of us DVC'ers can do so. I'm excited about the new resort and would like to take a short trip there soon after it opens just to check it out.

Once they begin accepting reservations, all DVC'ers should be able to book using the 11/7 window. I haven't heard when they expect to begin taking reservations. I've seen May given as a possible opening date for stays.

I don't remember the exact dates, I will go look around a bit for where I saw the information, but I think SSR owners will be able to make ressies before everyone else. I remember reading that because I was kind of annoyed, when they opened up reservations for my home resort, BCV, they let everyone make reserations on that same date. Maybe it was because by the time they started taking reservations everyone was within the 7 month window.

I was told you can begin making SSR ressies using SSR points on Dec 1. And you can begin making SSR ressies using non-SSR points in February.

I had only heard that reservations could be made by SSR owners in either December or January, but nothing about other DVC owners. Obviously, if this is true, the 11/7 month window will not matter for the opening in May. That being the case, I didn't know if they would stagger the process somehow or let everyone make reservations at the same time.

No, no, no, SSR is located over at Downtown Disney, very much on-property. If you look across the lake from DD you will see building going on--that's it. It's kind of near Rainforest Cafe, you could walk to it if there was a sidewalk. Actually, a walk around the lake at DD would be a nice stretch of the legs, perhaps 1 1/2 miles or so (I'm terrible with distance, so take this number as a LOOSE estimate!). It was the site of the spa and disney Institute.

We just added on at SSR and were told we could start making our ressies as of Jan 1. Opening is in May....tentatively May 1.
We plan to make a ressie for the week of Memorial Day!

There seems to be a discrepancy in when SSR owners can begin making reservations. I was told Dec 1, and others are reporting Jan 1. In any case, there definitely will be a gap before non SSR owners can begin making reservations. (I was told February). Also, I was specifically told that I could not mix SSR points and non-SSR points for a SSR reservation during this SSR owners only reservation window. But I could borrow SSR points if necessary.

Edit: Just got the SSR mailing from DVC. It does state that the begin date for booking SSR reservations using SSR points is December 1, 2003.
