reservation status points

just had offer accepted on a contract that has about 100 of these points that must be used by 12/1/09. probably will close (assuming passing rofr) in about two months.

what the heck can i do with these points...do they have any rental value?

You can only make a reservation for one of the non-DVC options using Reservation Points. That status means they were used for a Disney Collection, Concierge Collection or Adventure Collection reservation which was later cancelled. They cannot be banked and will expire at the end of the current Use Year.

They may be used to make a reservation for any of the above collections. They cannot be used for the World Passport Collection. Since the non-DVC options generally have higher point costs than DVC reservations many will find discounts directly thru Disney that are competitive with trying to rent those points - depending on what you try to charge. I'd suggest looking at some non-DVC resorts at WDW and DL and compare the cash reservation pricing with what someone would be willing to pay a stranger and see what you can work out. It will likely be all about the price.
