:thumbsup2 Hi people not having stayed on-site before,I'm not sure how you go about requesting a particular area? We are booked in to the CBR but there are a couple of the "islands" that we would prefer to stay in ,so how do you ask for this short of waiting till we arrive?
SD :thumbsup2

Up until a few years ago you could fax the resort a few days before arrival to request a certain building or area, but the resorts were getting swamped with fax's (as you can imagine!). You can still try sending a fax, but some resorts just ignore them now.

Fax number is: 00 1 407 934-3288
Telephone number is: 00 1 407 934-3400

What you can also do is try and get your request noted on your booking. How you do this depends on how you booked the rooms.

Disney reservations number is: 00 1 407 934-7639

:thumbsup2 Thanks Tim,we booked with WDW so I will call them-didn't think to ask at the time because we wanted CSR but it wasn't available & hadn't really looked into CBR at that point!

Hi we stayed at CBR last november and I wrote to them about 2 weeks before we arrived and when I got there they had given us what we had a requested which was a corner room in Jamaica-we booked through VH and although I had asked for this through them as well the CM said it was not noted on the booking and neither was our honeymoon-so much for there promise:confused3 The CM was great and the day after we arrived we had balloons in our room, a card and a bottle of champagne congratulating us.You will love this resort.Have a good time:thumbsup2

I faxed CSR 4 days before travel, stating our booking ref etc. arrival date and politely asked for a choice of 2 areas. On arrival I was given the location I requested. I think it depends on a few things:

be polite and don't make demands.
don't ask for too much
don't write an essay!
the time of year, we went at a quite time so availability would be greater.

Good luck!

I faxed POR a day before we went in October requesting interconnecting rooms, one of them a corner room and upstairs. I kept the fax brief, but polite, stating that i understood if this could not be done. I was thrilled to be given all of my requests, and made a point of going to reception and thanking them very much.

Do you think it might depend on which hotel you are staying in??? Its just we are staying at the Poly, and I understand that there are some fabulous garden view rooms ( with views of the lagoon)- but I was told that at the Poly they ignore faxes - perhaps its because everyone paying for a garden view, wants the 'best' ones????:confused3 :thumbsup2

Yes, they ignore faxes at the Polynesian (or so I have been told by CMs at check-in). The best way to maximise your chance of getting your request is to firstly have added to your reservation and secondly to reiterate the request upon check-in. If worst comes to worst, the CMs will be happy to move you to an alternative room (if one is available) if you don't like the first room you are allocated.
