I just found out we will probably now be flying instead of driving to WDW from Indiana.
We are staying at the POP on June 13th, but I unfortunately won a priceline hotel on the 12th. The reason I say unfortunately is because now since we are not driving we have to worry about transpotation to and from our hotel and sense we are staying off site on that first evening we can't use ME ~UGHH!

Anyway should I just eat the loss at the priceline hotel and reserve an extra room at the POP as transportation costs will offset the hotel price and convenience factor?

Also, If I add on a night at the POP do I have to get another night of DDP? I was going to get one night on the deluxe plan so we could do three character meals, which I have already scheduled, but I really don't want the deluxe plan for 2 nights.
I think if I made a separate resservation then they wouldn't make me but then correct me if I'm wrong ~they may make us switch rooms on that 2nd night and check out and check in again. If I make a separate resservation at POP instead of adding to our existing ressie then what is the likelihood that we could just stay in our room from day one?

Thanks!:flower3:

If you're talking about April 13th, I think you should call NOW to try to reserve the room one extra night--if I'm understanding you correctly, you want to add a Saturday night. The Values are going to fill up fast and you may not have a choice of which Value you get for that night you want to add.

Yes, I would eat the price of the Priceline room, personally.

I don't use DDP so I don't know how that would work.

I added an extra night on my reservation in Dec. All they did was link the two so I did not have to switch rooms. I did have to add the dining plan for the extra night. I would give up the priceline room. I would think staying at the same hotel without needing transportation on the 13th would be easier. That way when you wake up the 13th you are already checked in and can start your day early. Have a great trip

I would eat the cost too. You can make a room-only reservation and link them; that would mean you don't need DDP that first night, but you do have to check-out/back in, and *may* have to move rooms.

Thanks all
I'm sorry i guess i didn't say JUNE oops....

Thats what I was worried about!

I really don't want 2 nights on the Deluxe DDP because we don't really need that. Well if we have to get it maybe that is my excuse for doing the Polynesian Dinner Show thingy ~which uses 2!

Why not keep your PL hotel reservation and take airport transportation, or a taxi to Disneyworld?

I could and I am considering that but then we are paying
approximately $65 (oops make that $80 ~it looks like we need to get the van to fit the carseat) for one way transportation to our hotel then
I'm not sure how much it would be to transfer over to the Pop from the Clarion the next morning but I would guess that it will be another $15-$20. Maybe there is a less expensive alternative than http://www.fltours.com ~I'll look at a few more options. Basically I guess we can stay where we are for close to $100 in tranportation costs. If I just get a value room then it's $119 and no transportation fees. However if I add a day at the POP to our current reservation then I have to get an extra day on the Deluxe DDP then it will be a lot more ~I'm gonna go figure that out now

Alright to do an extra day on the Deluxe DDP then we are looking at +256 for our hotel and meals. Now I'm not sure we would pay an extra $136 in our meals for that first day.

or we could downgrade to regular DDP and then it would only be ab extra $88 than what we were going to spend and that includes hotel stay and dining. Of course then we would only be getting 2 sit down meals (and I had hoped for at least the 3 I already made ADRs for) Ugggghhhh

all these decisions are hurting my brain:headache:

Feel free to put in your 2cents fellow DISers if I am making any sense!

Time to go clean house. :laundy:

Thanks

another alternative

go with an airport hotel for that first night - then use DME the next morning to get to WDW.

might just go with Clarion - and take a taxi the next morning. - 5 miles should be $20 or less.
http://www.mapquest.com/maps/Clarion+Maingate+Hotel:Kissimmee+FL+34747/Disney's+Pop+Century:US/#a/maps/l:Clarion:7675+W+Irlo+Bronson+Meml+Hwy:Kissimmee:FL:34747:US:28.337011:-81.593101:address:/l:Disney's+Pop+Century+Resort:1050+Century+Dr:Lake+Buena+Vista:FL:32830:US:28.351888:-81.541297:address:/m::10:28.343525:-81.569166:0::/io:1:::::f:EN:m:/e

with mears the transportation one way to Clarion would be $19 per adult, $15 per child - so total of $68 one way - using the shuttle

tried to get information on the taxi - but the site is not understanding....

maybe you can get it to

You could also rent a vehicle for 1 or 2 days.

Rent from Alamo at the airport, and drop it off at the Swan or the Disney Care Centre.

That is probably the cheapest way to get from the PL Hotel to Disney property the next day.

OH thanks!
I hadn't thought of that! I didn't know you could drop off easily once in WDW. Is there transportation from the Disney Care Center once we drop it off? Where is the Disney Care Center?

Sorry typo should be the Disney Car Centre, there is a shuttle service provided. I believe it is on the way to Magic Kingdom at the Hess Gas Station.

I looked it up for you.

Thanks I will have to check the alamo site out!

Remember to use a discount code too. Check out mousesavers or rentalcodes.

The Walmart code is good because it gives you the second driver free.

Thanks again Evening Star! :flower3:

It looks like we may take a cheaper flight earlier in the week and keep rent a car for a few days. I need to see if there are any codes available ~haven't checked into that yet.
