Does anybody know why a trip for one adult and 2 kids (ages 9 and 6) costs the same as a trip for 2 adults and a 5 year old?

Room only or package? Number of nights at resort? Number of ticket days? Special offer?

Why not? Rooms are double occupancy for 1 or 2 adults and up to 5 in the room, depending on occupancy at the various level resorts. So if it is room only that is correct.
If it is a package that includes tickets and dining plan it should not be the same price.

No.
It's the tickets. There is a small difference in price. After getting a 7 day ticket there is not a lot of price difference.

Also, if you have a dining plan, the cost is significantly higher for an adult (age 10 and up) than a child.
