reservation question

OK, so I made dining reservations for a friend BEFORE the new cancellation rules came out. However, I just got the confirmation email for tomorrow's reservation, and on the bottom of the email it states:

Payment and Cancellation Policies
There is a 1-day cancellation policy and a $10 per person charge if you cancel within 1 day of the reservation or are a "no show" for the reservation.

Am I still "grandfathered in?"

I am sure you still are grandfathered in. As a software programmer, I can tell you that I would program the verbiage the new way and not worry about checking the date to determine what verbiage to send in email, KWIM? I would just print out the original confirm from my email in your shoes

did you supply a credit card to guarantee this reservation? if so, they might have a leg to stand on. if not, how would they charge you?

On the dining reservations page on the Disney website there's a long explanation detailing the new cc guarantee/no show penalties. It says it does not apply to any reservation made prior to Oct 26 unless it is modified after that date in which case you will be asked to provide cc info before making the modification.


Also, since you didn't give a cc number before Oct 26 there's no way they could charge you.

If the reservation was made before October 26 it will not be affected.
