reservation help!

I just called Disney to make a reservation for this coming December. I asked for a AAA discount and was told that they are not available. I decided to hold the reservation but not pay the down payment just yet. Should I put down the down payment and keep calling to check if AAA rates have become available? What are my chances that a rate will become available??

That's what I am doing for the YC in '08. I put a rake rate deposit down and will wait on AAA or hopefully and AP discount. I have done this with AAA before and changed to the discount without any problems when they became available.

AAA rates have been released through the end of 2007 if you are being told it is not available for the resort and dates you want it means it is sold out.

I do not know how many people actually cancel in Dec but I do know that when discounted rooms are canceled they do not necessarily go back into the discount inventory so I think it would depend if Disney releases more AAA discounted rooms.

I would put the deposit down. We held a pool view room at AKL for May 07 at rake rate becaue the AAA discount was unavailible and kept calling back. A couple of weeks ago we were able to get the pool view at AAA rate and saved $190. I say book and call back.

Book a room that you can afford without the AAA discount. Then keep checking back and change if the rate comes out for what you really want.

That is good advice! We've done the same thing on previous occasions just to be sure we could get a room (during peak season and popular times).
