Rescheduled Sunwing Flight

I am so disappointed!

After a lot research for our first trip to WDW, we booked with Sunwing specifically because of the 6:10am departure time which would get us into MCO at 9:15am and pretty much give us a whole day there.

I had planned a surprise two-day stay at Portofino Bay in Universal for the first two days for my fiance. And looking forward to having two full days at Universal before heading over to WDW on our third day.

I received word yesterday that Sunwing has rescheduled their Sunday flights to depart at 4:35pm!! That would get us into MCO at 7:50pm, which loses our entire first day there.

We don't drive so we decided to fly out of YYZ, but I feel now that some of my planning has gone to waste because of this.

To top that off, when I checked online for other Sunwing flights, doesn't it figure that all the prices have gone down now, too. So we paid more for flights that we don't even want anymore!

Sorry to rant. But glad to have a place to do it. :headache:

I'd let the airline know that doesn't work with your schedule. They probably offer you a refund. Then re-book with another airline.

That's a real bummer! What about flying out a day earlier with them? Would they do that without a booking fee?

EXACTLY!

When a charter airline changes their flight times, you have the option of a refund.

Oh - I have options??

I booked with itravel online and I am being told that it is 100% non-refundable and non-changeable.

I really have an option of a refund if the charter changes its flight time??

What would be the best way for me to go about changing flights?

THANKS EVERYONE!! :wizard:

I would call itravel and ask to speak to a supervisor.

Explain to them that this does not work for you and see if they can contact Sunwing or the Sunwing Rep to get a refund and rebook something else that does.

That is strange. I am also booked on Sunwing, but I booked directly with the airline (sunwing.ca) and have 100% ability to cancel or rebook my flight for any reason. I also bough the cancellation insurance.

We are leaving on Sept 23/07 return on Oc 7/07 and I just check and that flight is still at 6:10 am as your was.

I would also suggest to try and get a refund (if you can) through a manager or such and book directly with Sunwing from the internet. The cost for us was $99 return (plus the $140 insurance- :confused3 )

Good luck

What they were able to offer me was a flight leaving tomorrow (Friday) AM - a whole two days early for a $50/per person change fee. I would have loved to leave two days early, but we just can't swing it. :sad1:

Oh well, at least I tried! Thanks everyone for all your suggestions!

The general rule used to be that a charter had the right to change the flight times and as long as they were on the same date there was nothing that could be done. With the new airlines (Westjet, etc) alot of them have relaxed their rules to a certain extent. Legally, I think they still have the right to change the times as long as the date remains the same. Not that I agree with it but unfortunately that is the way it goes.
