There’s some dangerous FOMO and endorphins running rampant around these DVC threads today…we’re thinking of doing a late July trip, probably staying at RIV…and we have an Aug UY…Last time we purchased, we were literally on the Skyliner back in December and we doubled our initial PIT purchase…me+good vibes and fomo= questionable decisions. This board doesn’t help. Gonna have to avoid it here come July

150 points after all incentives: $31,950

The 150 is actually more expensive per point than the 100. I know I could do MB on 150 points, but that isn't really a discount but rather selling your points back to Disney.

I've been looking at this too and I think its because the per point discount from 100 to 150 is only $3 and the AP/D23 is static at $1500 so whether you buy 100 or 5000 points its always going to be only $1500 (which is a larger percentage off a 100pt contract vs a 150pt contract). It's too bad that discount doesn't scale up.

This has me leaning towards 100 points.
We will see what the July 15 incentives look like.

Magical beginnings benefit is probably dependent on your UY and/or whether you want to use those points and/or what resale contract you're comparing it to. For me, I have an Oct UY, and I don't feel like I need those 2024 points and would be happy to sell them back. Feels like a bonus discount if I were to buy before Oct. If I wait until my next UY to buy, then I probably wouldn't want to do it.

Yep that’s one of the reasons I started looking at poly again before we went. It’s rare to see better deals on 100. It’s because of the 1000 and 500 are the same amount on 100 and 150.

MB = Magical Beginnings. If you buy 150+ direct points at an Active resort you can sell back your first year's points for $20/pt and get a check from Mickey a few weeks after closing. Doesn't apply to "sold out" resorts even if they're still selling and doesn't work on resale, of course.
