resale question

We have not become members of DVC yet. I know that if you buy through Disney you have to buy at least 150pts to start off. Is that true when you buy a resale? Can you buy less than 150pts for a first time purchase if you do a resale? I was under the impression that you could not do that. I thought Disney would exercise its ROFR.

Also, is there one month over another to pick as your use year month?

It is possible to buy your first contract resale and less than 150 points, there are those on this board that have done it. While DVC might be more likely to excercise their ROFR in that situation, it doesn't appear they look at it from that standpoint very much.

Best use year depends on when you want to travel. If you have a general time you prefer to travel, buy a use year that occurs 6 months or less before that time.
