So with DVC restricting privellages on the resale amentties...

I own at SSR..... 250 point currently.

But we love BCV....

I was thinking of trying to do a swap of some sort.

Does DVC have BCV points that they sell.. because of their right to refuse first offer?

there's really no "swap" you can do.
DVC does have BCV contracts they will sell you directly. You'd have to sell your SSR on the resale market.

Yes, you can buy BCV direct from DVC. Depending on your UY you might have to waitlist until they ROFR more points to sell or they may have them right away.

The last I heard DVC is charging $115/pt for BCV and there are no discounts or incentives which is $30-$35/pt more over resale. And if you sold some of your SSR points, assuming your 250 is not just one contract and you can do that, you would probably get anywhere from $50-$65/pt for those.

Since your SSR points would sell for around $60 per point and the direct BCV contract would cost about $115 per point, to sell and buy would cost you a net additional $55 per point. With broker commisions and new closing costs, I'd estimate this would cost you around $15k. Therefore, it seems smarter to simply use the points you have. The trading restrictions on resales are minimal and only involve trades that are a poor use of points anyway.

DVC does not swap contracts. As others have said, you would have to sell your SSR points and purchase BCV points either directly from DVC or resale. Another option to consider if you plan far enough out is to book your stay at your home resort, SSR 7-11 months out so you can make your other travel plans and then call back at the 7 month out mark and see if there is availability at BCV. If there is, change the res. If there isn't you can ask to go on the wait list. If BCV opens up they will change your res from SSR to BCV. Either way you still have a resort booked.
