Nickspace, we took the Lockport tour this year. It's great. Only working locks left in North America I believe.

The Welland Canal's locks are still working (where I grew up). Good thing too, because that pesky Niagara Falls isn't very good for boats. (and even harder to go up).

Another update - received email from DVC today with my auth key. Called DVC and got my club and membership numbers, and was able to register and sign in to my DVC account online this morning - 1 day after closing! Pretty nuts. Granted, no points in the account yet, but you can't have your cake and eat it too after all. I guess its pretty quiet around DVC and they are pushing stuff through very quickly....

well, the points are in there now too LOL can't say enough how easy this whole process was. time to book!

Monday, May 18 - offer tendered and accepted by owner, used The Timeshare Store:
150 BWV (Mar) $77, 73 '09 pts, all '10 pts, buyer pays closing and '09 mf, non-member, TSS

Tuesday, May 19 - completed contract and deposit check overnighted to The Timeshare Store

Wednesday, May 20 - acknowledgement from TSS of receipt of deposit and contract, confirmation that package was sent to Disney for ROFR

Wedneday, May 27 - Disney refuses ROFR

Monday, June 1 - All closing docs are sent by email to myself

Tuesday, June 2 - All signed closing docs, plus bank check for remainder of payment, overnighted to title company

Tuesday, June 9 - Notified by Jason at TSS that we are closed and should be in the system within 10 days

Wednesday, June 10 - Emailed system login info, logged in, points available. woo hoo!

I am sorry that this process has been so difficult for you Nick. Hopefully, things will change soon.

We went through ROFR pretty quick (1.5 weeks) however the seller has been slow in every step.

We are now waiting for them to return their closing documents. Ours have been in for over a week. It seems as though Disney is moving quick though so I am hopeful once we close that we will be in the system quick!

From everyone's experience, once the closing documents are turned in by both parties how long does it take to be in the DVC system??

Curious...when you purchase a contract via resale, does DVC assign it a different contract number once assigned to your existing DVC account or does it retain the seller's contract number?
