I just submitted an offer on a resale contract, and it was accepted. Now my question is is there anything specifically that I should be looking for in the contract they are going to email me tomorrow? This will be my first purchase into DVC or real estate of any kind, so it is all new to me. Getting pretty excited though! :)

It is pretty standard and no tricks...but read it through. I have had three contracts and all three had mistakes. Mainly I have the sellers pay closing or mf and they forgot to change that...I guess I am unusual in negotiating contracts.

Congrats. You should double check every variable element of the contract. Number of points in contract, number of current points available, number of banked points, number of future points, price per point, who pays closing costs, who is responsible for 2013 maintenance fees, use year, your personal information, etc. etc.

Nobody is out to "get" you, but mistakes do happen and it's better you catch them now. Congrats on your purchase! :)

Thank y'all so much! Gotta get it moving through FROR! Lol. I told my husband that I made an offer and was accepted, and he said " We're going to Disney!" I introduced him to Disney three years ago, and he loves it just as much as me. :)

Congrats! What's the details on the contract?

Good luck with ROFR!

Congrats!! Read everything very carefully, and by all means, have patience. There are lots more step to go, with ROFR being the longest wait. Good luck the rest of the way! :thumbsup2

It is AKV 150 points with an October use year through Fidelity with all '13 points and forward. I'm not very worried with the ROFR though. They seem not to take as many of the AKV since it is still on the direct market, now if it was BWV or any of the older ones I would be very nervous! But if they take it I'll just keep looking and go to the next...

Congrats. I just put in for 200 AKV points with December use year. I'm in the same boat as you, expect it to get through ROFR. Does anyone know of any AKV contracts taken by the mouse?
