Resale contract buying strategy?

Is BRV the same in terms of feel? I know you're not in the lobby proper but would you say staying at BRV is more or less the same or do you really need to be staying CC for the true Christmas vibe?
I didn’t make it to BRV when I was there last year so maybe someone else can comment on how the building is decorated. But you’re such a short stroll away from the WL lobby I don’t think you can go wrong either way (plus I’m sure some would argue BRV gives you the best of both worlds - access to the main lobby and reprieve from its crowds!)

@TheDailyMoo... probably depends on what you're looking for?
CCV was literally our first DVC experience-- we stayed there one night on our newly bought resale contract before staying with my parents at BLT on rental points (booked before we bought DVC). The WL lobby is awesome, though busy, and the DVC studios are a bit small. But the front of our holiday card that year? A shot in front of the tree at BRV. Not as visually impressive as the WL tree, but still pretty, quieter and more relaxed. We didn't see the BRV rooms, though it's such a short walk and has its own pool.

I'm sure the link is in here somewhere, but can anyone quickly direct me to the link that shows the recent sales and you can look at the prices for sales on resale that were sold recently? I thought I had bookmarked it but didn't.

Ok, more off topic, but the walls at CCVs are not up to par with sound proofing? Really? Like at the Grand? We stayed once at the WL but that was before the conversion of half the hotel to DVC. I don't remember having such issues. Did Disney just go cheap with the DVC side when they converted them over?
Wait, are the walls thin at VGF?

It’s totally the same. BRV has its own tree and decorations plus the cozy fireplaces. It’s a perfect and more serene extension of the main building.

No, I'm actually looking for the website that you can see what contracts have been sold.

I used it when I got my first contract.

But thanks for trying to help!
I havent seen anything that tracks across all resorts and/or brokers.

There's a website that seemingly aggregated what costs were on sold contracts and you could see the averages.

I just wish I had bookmarked it

Not in the main DVC building. (from what I have read) The new resort rooms with DVC has been reported.
This is not specific to BPK (the DVC resort rooms) but noise has been reported all over the GF for years. You have to keep in mind that BPK and the non-DVC VGF buildings are significantly older than the 'old' DVC building (roughly 25 years, I believe)

So DVD did not 'worsen' the sound proofing of BPK as some believe. As it appears they just did not improve it. The doors connecting rooms seem to be a weak point.

The reported experiences cover a broad range. Some people report hearing telephone conversations on the other side and people brushing teeth. I once had a family of four (with quite loud kids) next door and heard nothing.

Follow up to this thread - just getting back from a weekend in a grand villa at Riviera and reconsidering whether I want to own any resale points that restrict me from staying at that resort. That place is so nice and the grand villa is amazing, I wonder which other resorts DVC will build that I will like in the future?. Coming back around to the idea of buying another 175 points direct at Polynesian….

Personally I would wait and see what happens next go round or early next year with Poly pricing, right now the incentives are not good enough. My strategy would be, buy a couple weeks into the next round of incentives and select a 90 day pay plan that would give the opportunity to get the new incentives if they were better the following round.

Good idea. I was doing that strategy with a fixed week contract at CFW before I bailed out to buy the fixed week at Poly tower instead.

I also like that it gives you time to sit with it and decide if you want a different resort like you chose or different UY or different FW.

Congrats on that GV stay. It looks amazing!

Great use of your OKWe Direct Points from that recent sale. If you already have a broad portfolio of points, why not consider RIV resale to stay at RIV? You save a ton of money to trade the flexibility.
