Resale Borrowing - When do the dwarves show up?

Hi folks - Resale only owner here wanting to book for June 2023 but will need to borrow. Knowing that it's been hit or miss for Resale owners to be able to borrow without calling into member services, is there a way for me to try this in advance and see without following through on the booking? I'd rather avoid trying to book a room at my home resort to pull those points into this UY ahead of time if I don't have to.
 
Is this something recent? I've never had an issue with borrowing points from the next UY. It's not something that I frequently do but in the last few trips I've done it both times.
 
FWIW I'm a June UY resale owner that booked in June 2023 borrowing points from 2024 and had no problem.

You could check it though by booking a reservation 7 months from now, borrowing less points than what you intend to borrow for your actual reservation to check it. Don't borrow more though, or you'll be stuck with some orphan points. Another option is just wait until you have to do it, then be ready to call MS if you can't make it work. Either way, knowing ahead of time probably won't help much.

During the borrowing restrictions (50%) many, but not all resale owners could not borrow online. In theory it seems it was "fixed" when the restrictions went away.

Hmm interesting, I wasn't aware of this, obviously I've missed seeing any posts where people were talking about difficulty. I borrowed online for our trip last year in December and didn't have any issue. Thanks for the clarification.

There were several (like lots and lots) of threads on it.....and many times it would be after borrowing for the first time in a UY, so if you only borrowed once it likely wouldn't have affected you.
 
I can always borrow against my resale contract once per use year without the dwarves. If I try to borrow anymore against that UY, then the little guys pop up and I have to call.
 
I had trouble with it using a resale contract to book at 11 months on Oct 1. Dwarves for days. I finally broke down and called and the CM acted like she had never heard of this "glitch" before. Right. To answer the question, yes, it's the very last screen after you borrow (You're almost there!😤) I was on hold for 25 mins waiting for a CM, then another 30 mins while she worked it out and got the res booked. Looking forward to brand spankin' new room at BRV next Labor Day Week!
 
I haven't had the issue the last couple times I've booked which has given me some hope that it is fixed. I had several hour+ all in phone calls before that being put on hold and then waiting for the CM to work with the manager to get my resale contract's borrowed points into the use year I wanted to use them in.

Before that I was getting the dwarf screen after selecting what contract I wanted to borrow from but before putting in the guest information.
 
I never had an issue before the borrowing restrictions were lifted, but did on my last trip. I used the chat feature to book it. Much easier than sitting on hold.
