We will be staying at Kidani for the first time, and I have heard all the stories about the long walks! We are traveling with family, and I would like to request that our rooms be close to each other, and that they be close to the busses. I completely understand that requests are just that, and no guarantee, but I wondered about others experiences with requests at Kidani.

Also, any other advice or comments would be appreciated!

TIA! :goodvibes

I've also posted this on the general resorts board, to get the most responses possible!

If you ahve a savanna view, 2nd floor is best view and avoids obstruction from trees. (I do not think there are any rooms on 1st floor, just parking and dining).

requesting "close to transportation" should get you close to the lobby and thus avoid the long halls.

We have a standard view booked. Since there are elevators, I'm not as concerned about what floor, but I would like to avoid those long hallways that I see on the resort map!

We stayed at Kidani for Spring Break a few years ago. A room was ready when we got there but after seeing where it was on the map I asked if we could have something closer to the lobby. They did change it but the room wasn't ready until later in the day. The pool was a hike but we were close to the lobby and close to the bus stop.
Kidani is a really nice resort. Hope you enjoy your trip as much as we did.

Since you are standard view, I'd ask for close to the pool. That should also get you close to the lobby.

If you're wanting near the bus transportation, then you will want the rooms to the right of the lobby (I believe that is the south side???). Just look at the map at the link below. The rooms are going to be:

7205-7215
7305-7315
7405-7415
7505-7515

Those will be closest, and still get you close to the lobby, and a relatively close walk to the pool.

I stayed in room 7872, and it wasn't a bad walk. I have kids, and it wasn't too bad. I don't think anyone complained about the walk for the week we were there.

Have fun!

This past week we had a standard view 2br, 4th floor, #7453 with a surprising view of the back fence of the Pembeh savanna. Saw Okapies, Thompson Gazelles, a type of Donkey & oxen being fed during the day and at night, it was lovely. The walk, however, was a bit daunting and I love to walk! However I can certainly understand that with children this would be a huge endeavor several times a day! We were seconds from the car park/elevator but that's of no help when trying to make a bus, go to the pool etc.

Make the request, not guaranteed but who knows, you may get what you want! Good luck!

We are in a room right now that is near the back fence of the Pembe Savannah. It s a nice treat to have a standard view room and still see animals. much nicer than looking at the parking lot. We have car so it is easy to park near our room. We are far from the lobby by looking at the map, but I don't find the walk far at all, especially compared to the walk from the elevator at the Boardwalk. We have gone down to the lobby gift shop and the savannah overlook a few times. It doesn't take long to get there. It ay seem longer when getting back from a long day at the park. It is a short walk to the pool. The only complaint I have is that we asked for our one bedroom to be near my mothers studio. She was given a room on the opposite side of the building (close to Jambo House). I know they can't guarantee requests but it seems like they could have gotten us closer. She did change rooms after the first day so now we are closer. It is a beautiful resort.

We just came back, had a AKV standard view ded 2br, #7313. At first I didn't care for the view, it looked directly out front at the bus stop.

As the week went on, I grew to really like the view! My DH and I tend to enjoy the balcony at night with a glass of wine and some Chip and Dale's cheese crackers :) Even if we had a savanna view, we wouldn't have seen anything in the dark. With the view we had, it was kind of fun to watch families coming back from the parks, laughing and carrying tired babies up to bed.

My son enjoyed it in the mornings as well. He took it upon himself to watch the busses for whatever park we were going to. He'd announce "Magic Kingdom just left, hurry up!" meaning that we ought to hustle to catch the next one which usually came pretty quickly!

Love your attitude...make the best of what you get. :goodvibes
Only so many people can get 'close to the lobby' or 'close to the pool'. Nothing wrong with requesting it, just realize you may not get it.

Kidani is so beautiful that I just love being there, especially Savannah View because we tend to be in our room quite a bit (work calls even on vacation).

Totally! We had a view of the front entrance at Kidani last year, not exactly a great view but we were just thrilled to be staying there and greatfull for the wonderful option of renting dvc points! :goodvibes:
