E have requested a premium pet loop for our August trip. Out TA said when she made the reservation, she was told it is a request and cannot be guaranteed. Is there really a chance that we will drive all the way fromNY with two dogs only to be told that we can't have the dogs?

we have never had a problem getting pet loop with our dogs. one thing to remember FW can make non pet loops pet loops as needed. that has happened to us. I am sure others can explain better than I can. I would not worry, just be sure dogs are listed on the ressie

You'll be fine. There are more premium sites than all others combined. And like PP said they put pets in just about every loop nowadays.

Can anyone tell me a good loop to pick that is a pet loop need to be close to a comfort station

Welcome to the camping board !

You're never too far away from a comfort station. I'd request a pet loop and to be close to a comfort station. You do have to pick a site level first, full hook up, preferred or premium.

That practice is about to change...
What practice is about to change. Sometimes allowing dogs in non pet loops or turning people with pets away.

1) Yes, the practice of pets in no-pet loops is about to come to an end.
2) Finally.
. . . it gets out of hand
. . . way out of hand
. . . pets now can be found in several non-pet loops
. . . too many campers without pets are complaining about noise and mess
. . . which is well within their rights *
3) The Fort will not turn away the campers if pet loops are full.
4) They will just make the campers board their pets.
5) Fortunately, the WDW pet boarding gets really good comments.

* As a camper who leave pets home, I personally do not want pets in our
non-pet loop. I do not want the noise or mess that comes along with pets.
If we wanted to see pets, we would book a pet loop. I know lots of other
campers that feel the same way - let alone the campers that come up to
our desk and complain about pets in THEIR loop.

Yeah, great idea. I am a pet lover, but I leave my pet at home. I detest listening to a barking dog inside a camper, while the owners are away for a day. I have called before to the front desk to voice my opinion of a barking dog. Finally. Thank you FW.

I have a full hook up site we are not sure if we will have our dog with us or not. Last time we were in loop 400 just wanted to make sure we get a good loop. We drive every where anyways due to having to use a scooter

In this case there really needs to be guaranteed booking for pet sites rather than just by request. It would be like having adults only loops and you have to hope that there is enough room in the family loops when you get there otherwise you'd have to find a hotel.

Frankly, if there's a chance that we'd have to board our two dogs for the duration of our vacation, I'm going to think long and hard about keeping our reservation.

I completely respect other's desires to be guaranteed a non-pet loop. I get that and totally agree, I just think that the pet people should be able to be guaranteed a pet loop if that's what they book. It comes down to a reservation system thing to me.

If I wanted to board my pet I would do it here and not drag him on a 12 hour road trip to stick him in a cage. Not to mention the costs involved......

Thank you FW!

Now maybe they'll also enforce the 'cart' rules!!

Reckless/underage drivers - loud, oversize carts - speeds, etc.

Just curious, maybe Rusty knows the stats.

What is the ratio of pets brought to the Fort compared to those without?

We don't bring pets and have been put in pet loops. Thought maybe there are more pet loops than non. We like animals but a small yappy dog for long periods of time while trying to sit outside and read does get trying.

I agree. They had better do a great job keeping up with pet/non pet reservations and loops. If not. I will not board my dog. I will make it known how unhappy I am. Then find another place to camp.

Agree that they better get the reservation situation set for PETS if they start this practice. We used to love the kennel at FW, have not used the very expensive new one and never considered it. However if I've requested a pet loop, then I'm guessing Disney would be willing to pay for the kennel if they cannot accomidate. :)

I actually would not want to be in a non-pet loop with people who may be very agitated by dogs. All I'm saying is they need to make it clear before someone shows up and are told they MUST board their pets. Too bad they got rid of the nice on-site facility.

Agree...start enforcing other rules and not selective.

I had a previous stay at the Fort ruined by a dog that barked non-stop. Unfortunately, he was with members of the church group I came with, so I did nothing. But I request non-pet loops now, unless I am with my camping club.

Well then Disney will be turning people away, including me. I will NOT board my dogs. It is not fair to them to be separated from their pack, it is one of the many reasons I enjoy owning an RV. If Disney where to tell me that I must board as they did not take my request into account, then I will have to ask for a full refund of my reservation, my tickets, and all prepaid items. I will have no other choice but to find somewhere else to spend my time and money.

So if Disney is going to make it where if they fill the limited pet loops and no longer expand as required, they I can rest assure you that unless I get a 100% unconditional guaranty that I have a site in a pet loop. Disney will stop seeing my money and probably many others. No one will want to make a long trip like that with no guarantee of a proper site and be forced to find alternatives.

They should definitely let you know when you reserve whether you can bring your pet or not. If there is not a vacancy for a pet loop, you then have the option of not reserving or reserving and making alternate plans for your pet.
