Walt Disney World annual passholders will be invited to try another Richard Petty Driving Experience program for free this year, StitchKingdom.com reports.

The new Richard Petty Driving Experience Shop Tour is a 30-minute activity that gives guests a behind-the-scenes look at the track’s design and maintenance shops, a history of the track and a van ride around the one-mile oval. The tour is scheduled for 8:30 a.m. Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays. It normally costs $15.

Reservations can be booked by calling 800-237-3889 for tours beginning March 16. Annual passholders can bring up to four guests with a maximum group size of 20.

Last spring, Disney World passholders were offered the opportunity to do a Ride Along from Richard Petty Driving Experience for free. They were able ride shotgun for three laps in a NASCAR-style race car reaching speeds up to 140 mph with a professional driving instructor. The program normally costs more than $100 per person.

My husband took Disney up on that offer and you can read about his heart-pounding experience here.

DH and a friend did the experience last year due to the AP offer. (Of course they both bought stuff afterwards. So it wasn't exactly "free". :rotfl:)
This year's offer seems pretty chintzy by comparison. But I guess free is free. :confused3

Man, that's TWICE I missed out on this. D'OH.

This sounds like there should be alot of takers on this. Is there a link to this promo? it may not be what you DH had, but as another said, free is free.

Well, one plus side is maybe getting a decent look at the Mickey head pond inside the gate on the Hess Station side. Not that it probably just looks like another body of water, but it is something different anyway.
