Has anyone had the tile floors in their house totally replaced with new tile? We bought this house that has tile floors in terrible condition. I wanted to cover the floors with laminate, but come to find out DH hates the laminate floor. He figures we can get a contractor to replace the floors with new tile. I've never known anyone to do that. Besides it being messy and costly, is there any other reason no one we know's ever done it. And speaking of cost, any idea what a task like that might cost for a little under a thousand square feet of floor (no stairs)? I'm hoping for 2-3 thousand dollars (is that realistic? With or without the cost of the tile?)
, and I want something more natural eventually. However, for now I'm working toward getting the carpet out of the other downstairs area for now, and putting wood laminate in those areas. Hopefully it all won't take more than ten years!
