Replacing Lost AP (Updated Post 8)

DP lost his AP for our trip to DL next week. Anyone have advice on most efficient way to replace it? I know the AP center is inside the park, but can guest service/relations provide a new pass outside the park gates?

We arrive Sunday afternoon 6/17, which we plan as a leisurely day anyway.

They'll issue a lost pass ticket, which is good for one day, but you'll have to go into the park (either DL or DCA) to get the replacement, which will cost $30 btw.

Thanks - sounds like we know what we're doing first thing in the parks . . .

WDW often waives the ($25) replacement fee for APs. Any chance DL occasionally does the same?

I don't know if the procedure is the same for a lost as for a stolen one, but when mine was stolen, I had to go to guest services outside to the left of the ticket booths to report it. Since the picture was already on file, it was replaced right there.
 

I've never known WDW to impose a Lost AP charge, they just print up another AP (in my experience) and you're on your way. Their APs are regular paper tickets, so there is not much cost involved.

Disneyland APs are plastic and have your picture on them, so they are more expensive to replace. I have never known of Disneyland waiving the replacement fee.
 
According to the AP site, there's a non-refundable fee of $20.00 to replace an AP. However when I replaced my stolen pass, there was no fee.
 
Turns out we could have avoided the $20 fee, but for a big pain. Guest services gave DP a card good for entry that day with information permitting a new card for each day of our trip without having to re-verify everything. However, we would still have to stop at Guest Services each morning to get in. Not helpful considering the don't open until 7 and we're styaing at DLH do want EE when we can get it!

Anyway - it got us in. The gate CM could have given DP something for Fastpasses, but we didn't want to go through that hassle either. So, we went to the AP center and replaced the AP. They asked a couple of questions to distinguish between lost and stolen, then issued Jim a new AP for $20.

Of course, it hadn't been through the turnstyles, which meant it wasn't useful for Fastpasses! However, at Indiana Jones, an FP machine went crazy and spit out about 30, so the CM just gave us a handful and said "have a good time." That's Disney Magic for me. . .

yeah i was just going to post that....when I lost my park hopper pass in Dec. I had gone over to Guest Relations outside of the park and was filling out the report and a boy came up to the next window and said he had lost his pass...the cm said $20 and he got a new card....it was quick and painless!

Unless the policy has changed, they're SUPPOSED to charge you at WDW. But they don't.
